Ori and the Will of the Wisps

A solid follow up to the previous entry that offers WAY more combat options on top of the previous methods. So much of this game feels and looks way more fluid but with these changes comes some issues as well. I found myself getting wonky i-frames, being stuck inside of geometry and enemy hurtboxes. Issues aside, the game was beautiful and the gameplay was engaging enough to persevere through. It's not the best feeling game I've played but definitely one of the best looking.

The second Ori game is an audiovisual masterpiece that surpasses its predecessor in almost every respect. The world once again features detailed, hand-painted environments and an orchestral soundtrack that blends perfectly with the breathtaking atmosphere. The level designs—particularly the chase sequences and puzzle sections—are cleverly crafted and challenging without being unfair. Verdict: A lovingly designed, emotionally gripping Metroidvania with excellent gameplay polish. An absolute must-play for fans of the genre and the first game. Rating: 9/10
