I couldn't escape :(
Operation : Escape, developed by ICT@SU and 3Hunters and published by ZDKHub, is a compact top-down shooter that mixes survival mechanics with a light roguelike structure. It presents a straightforward premise—fight your way through hostile environments and survive long enough to escape—but attempts to build tension through resource management and close-quarters risk. The result is a game that is easy to understand and quick to jump into, though its simplicity ultimately shapes how far it can go. The setup introduces you as a fugitive caught in an unexpected situation, abducted and altered by alien forces during an escape attempt. This transformation grants access to unusual weaponry, but also traps you in a dangerous, enclosed environment filled with enemies. The narrative exists mostly as background flavor, offering just enough context to frame the action without becoming a central focus. From the beginning, it’s clear that the game is more concerned with gameplay flow than storytelling, keeping the experience focused on survival and moment-to-moment decision-making. Combat is the core of the experience, played from a top-down perspective where positioning and awareness are key. Players move through a series of confined areas, dealing with waves of enemies using a mix of ranged and melee attacks. Weapons vary slightly in behavior and effectiveness, providing some tactical choice, but the most defining mechanic is the shared energy system. Energy is required for both reloading weapons and healing, forcing players to constantly balance offense and survival. The only reliable way to restore energy is through melee attacks, which introduces a deliberate risk-reward dynamic—players must move into danger to sustain themselves. This system creates moments of tension that elevate the otherwise simple gameplay. Deciding when to engage up close and when to maintain distance becomes a constant consideration, especially in crowded encounters. However, it also highlights one of the game’s weaknesses. The limited resource pool can feel restrictive, and running out of energy at the wrong time often leads to abrupt failure. While this adds difficulty, it can sometimes feel less like a strategic challenge and more like a lack of flexibility in the design. Enemy encounters are fast and require quick reactions, but the overall variety is limited. While different enemy types exist, their behaviors do not vary enough to significantly change how players approach each encounter. Over time, this leads to repetition, as the same patterns and strategies are reused throughout the game. Boss encounters attempt to break this cycle by introducing more demanding fights, but they are not frequent enough to fully offset the monotony of standard engagements. The pacing is one of the game’s more consistent strengths. Sessions are short, and the action begins quickly, making it well-suited for brief play sessions. There is little downtime, and the focus remains on continuous movement and immediate problem-solving. However, this fast pace comes at the expense of long-term progression. There are few systems that evolve over time, and the sense of growth is limited mostly to player familiarity with the mechanics rather than meaningful in-game development. Visually, Operation : Escape uses a simple pixel-art style that fits its scale. The environments are clear and functional, allowing players to easily track movement and threats, but they lack detail and variety. The presentation is serviceable rather than memorable, reinforcing the idea that the game is focused more on mechanics than on visual identity. As a free-to-play title, the game is accessible and easy to try, but it also feels closer to a small experimental project than a fully developed experience. Its systems are straightforward, its content is limited, and its overall scope is modest. This doesn’t make it ineffective, but it does limit how engaging it can be over longer periods. In the end, Operation : Escape offers a simple but occasionally tense gameplay loop built around its energy management mechanic. It succeeds in creating moments of pressure and quick decision-making, particularly in short sessions, but struggles to maintain interest due to repetition and a lack of depth. It’s a functional and accessible shooter that delivers on its basic premise, even if it doesn’t expand much beyond it. Rating: 6/10

Well, it's a very bad game, the developer has to pay people to play this ♥♥♥♥. If everything is still fine before the first boss, then delirium is already beginning on him. It could have been a good game for the evening, but as usual, the desire to add a little complexity turned it from a good game for the evening to ordinary ♥♥♥♥.
