Сlassic indie horror for one evening. The game has no tips, you need to solve all the puzzles yourself and avoid the monster that wants to devour your soul. Therefore, you need to be very careful and attentive to escape from the nightmare.

This is yet GDNomad's best game and it says much about how bad the rest of the games are, really. Although, I am going to not recommend this game. Pros: + Story (rather deep for a GDNomad game) + There actually are puzzles in this game + Readable notes Cons: - Poor scares - Terrible puzzles - Images you can find throughout the game makes less sense to the entire plot As I tried to understand and appreciate this game, it shows off to be edgy in the end and becomes rather appalling for the entire story and content.

One Wish is a compact, minimalist horror experience that relies on atmosphere and implication rather than spectacle or complex systems. Designed to be played in a single sitting, the game immediately establishes a sense of vulnerability and unease by placing the player in an unfamiliar, abandoned hospital with no explanation, no guidance, and no clear sense of safety. This deliberate lack of context becomes one of its defining strengths, encouraging players to project their own fears and interpretations onto the empty spaces they explore. From the opening moments, the environment does most of the storytelling. Stark corridors, sealed rooms, and distant ambient sounds create a feeling of isolation that never fully lifts. The hospital setting feels suspended in a strange limbo, neither fully grounded in reality nor overtly supernatural, which gives the experience a dreamlike quality. Instead of relying on scripted scares, the game builds tension through silence, anticipation, and the constant sense that something is wrong even when nothing is happening. Exploration becomes cautious by nature, as every corner feels like it could conceal danger. Gameplay centers on slow-paced first-person exploration mixed with light puzzle solving. Progression requires careful observation of the environment, interacting with objects, and piecing together small clues scattered throughout the ward. There is no combat and very little direct instruction, which reinforces the feeling of helplessness. Puzzles are generally simple in structure, but the lack of explicit direction and the oppressive atmosphere make even basic tasks feel tense. Players are encouraged to experiment, retrace their steps, and remain alert to subtle changes in their surroundings. A key source of pressure comes from the presence of a hostile entity that patrols certain areas. This threat is used sparingly, but effectively, turning otherwise quiet exploration into moments of genuine anxiety. Rather than overpowering the player with constant danger, the game uses brief encounters and implied pursuit to keep tension high. The uncertainty of when and where the threat might appear ensures that even calm moments carry an undercurrent of fear, reinforcing the psychological nature of the horror. Visually, One Wish adopts a restrained and utilitarian style. Textures, lighting, and environmental detail are modest, but they serve a clear purpose: to keep the focus on mood rather than realism. Dim lighting, harsh shadows, and empty rooms emphasize loneliness and disorientation, while the absence of decorative detail prevents visual comfort. Sound design plays an equally important role, using ambient noises, subtle audio cues, and occasional musical stings to unsettle the player without overwhelming them. Narratively, the game is intentionally sparse. Story elements are conveyed through environmental clues and fragmented hints rather than direct exposition. Themes of life, death, regret, and the unknown hover over the experience, but the game rarely spells out its meaning. This ambiguity invites interpretation, allowing players to draw their own conclusions about the protagonist’s situation and the significance of the hospital. For some, this open-ended approach adds depth and emotional resonance; for others, it may feel underdeveloped or unresolved. The short length of One Wish works both for and against it. On one hand, the concentrated runtime keeps the tension focused and prevents the mechanics from wearing thin. On the other, the experience can feel abrupt, ending before its ideas are fully explored. This brevity reinforces the feeling of a fleeting nightmare rather than a fully fleshed-out journey, which aligns with the game’s tone even if it limits replay value. Overall, One Wish is best appreciated as a small-scale psychological horror vignette rather than a traditional horror game. It does not aim to impress with complexity or polish, but instead succeeds through mood, restraint, and atmosphere. For players who enjoy subtle horror, environmental storytelling, and experiences that prioritize tension over action, it offers a short but memorable descent into quiet unease that lingers after the screen fades to black. Rating: 5/10
RUS / ENG

I WISH FOR INFINITELY MANY DESIRES!
Someone is talking about nostalgia for the old YouTube era of the early 2010s, but for me personally, this indie horror was reminiscent of Sad Satan including the latest parody on Steam itself: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199217001154/recommended/2686080/ . As for One Wish, here, as usual, according to the classics of all projects of this developer. The Easter egg from the Kuplinov Play can be found on a bedside table near one of the first rooms. Otherwise, there is no voice acting or checkpoints in the game. You still have to try to die in the game. There is only one enemy, and it poses no danger. Everything around, literally, in its red contrast is iron-concrete, gray, black and white. The story seems to begin with the fact that there is no escape from death, then the abduction of hearts from corpses is intertwined here, and then the "human centipede" begins altogether, consisting of fig-quality mannequins. There are only 2 password puzzles, and the first one is devoid of logic. In short, a typical story of a 7-year-old child with a lot of illogicalities, but by the standards of the game, it also has bugs. Of course, after completing One Wish, it leaves you feeling like you did something wrong, and endings 2 - but in fact, this is a script on a script that is covered by the download. P. S.
