Very straight to the point, easy, and fun to play! could use a little work in AI intelligence, it get's buggy. For example: ball literally went round the rim for a minute or two before falling out . Funny to see but not fun to play in reality. I enjoyed it.
This is a really nice basketball game for people who aren't very good at sports games. I also own NBA 2K Playgrounds, and this game is much easier to play.
TL/DR Version: This game is broken, unfinished, or both. Don't buy this game if you're expecting to be able to play, y'know, an *actual* game of basketball. Big: issues: -There's hardly any AI to speak of, 4 of the 5 players stand around doing nothing. -The stealing function is just a matter of walking through other players to get the ball, and this includes your own teammates. -Passing is 50/50 at best, inbounding the ball is almost impossible-- when you try to inbound the ball, a player from the opposing team will teleport to your position and take possession. When the opponents try inbound, one of your players will teleport in taking possession, etc until eventually someone is able to pass the ball in. More often than not the 'AI' passes the ball to the other end of the court where it goes out of bounds and the situation repeats. -Switching players feels random and is unintuative. In defence I think you take over your nearest player to the ballhandler, but sometimes you don't. It's... weird. Minor nitpicks: -There's no rules really, other than a quarter timer and out of bounds. There's no in-game menu or way to pause the game I've seen so far. -There's no options to speak of. No ability to change the short quarter lengths, or sound, etc. Sidenote: I don't quite get how some of these other reviews are saying they are enjoying this because it functionally doesn't work at all. Like, it's nice looking, and I want to think it'll be patched and that it's maybe not some kind of asset flip, padding for a portfolio or abandoned project, but it was released in mid 2020, so... *shrugs** Ultimately, it's basketball game that almost delivers a basketball game.
