Oldage has literally become a Dark Age.
I'll admit that I first played this for just a few achievements...back when I was super serious into achievement hunting. I got a few, then hit the pay barrier, which ruined my experience. You pretty much had to pay for coins (silver and gold, I forget which was the premium currency) which paid for more units. I think it paid for friend space and maps, but I can't remember that being the case. I do recall new units being expensive, though. Oldage was a basic tactics game, but you'd probably get more fun out of Fire Emblem instead. Most of the players (of the few there were) were paid players, while the rare ones were pay-to-win players. At which point, it was easy to see why it failed. It was a simple concept with a limited scope and with poor exposure and a pay wall, it was destined to fail. As of now, the settings menu is still functional and there is very little available for the offline players who boot this up. I will say that it is interesting to see what little this offers in its skeletal form, though. Just don't expect any actual gameplay as servers have shutdown. Props for the effort, though. But you can simply find better and more innovative tactics games out there. I wish the developer well in his future, but when it comes to Oldage...well, the polite way to put it would be to say that this was a learning experience and that I hope that the developer has learned from it and will use the knowledge acquired to better himself. I cannot say, however, that I particularly enjoyed this title, however. Even if it came back, I see little reason to return to it and I would not see any reason why I would recommend it. 0/10 We now move to a New Age...

While I enjoy the aesthetics of the game, and enjoy the gameplay, the problem is that the game was ultimately unsuccessful because of how it was marketed and how it was structured. The game if Free to Play, but few people play. To make it worse, the game is more enjoyable with a larger army, but you need to unlock the slots for it. So you dish out a few bucks for the extra slots, but then you notice that even fewer people are playing with larger armies. To make things worse, it you dare point this out to the developer, you get banned from the discussion forum, even if you make a respectful and constructive criticism of the game. I would have loved to give this game a thumbs up, but can't, and being banned from the discussion forum encouraged me to give a thumbs down review.
