# Off The Grid — An Ambitious Game That Still Has a Lot to Prove **Off The Grid** is one of those games where you can immediately see the ambition behind it. It tries to combine an extraction shooter with a large-scale battle royale experience, cyberpunk aesthetics, character customization, PvP and PvE, and a story-driven world. And honestly? When everything comes together, it can be extremely fun. But at the same time, the game has enough problems that I don't think it's fair to call it a masterpiece yet. ## 🎮 Gameplay The biggest strength of Off The Grid is the gameplay. The movement feels fast, the gunplay is satisfying, and the cybernetic abilities give fights a different feeling compared with traditional extraction shooters. You're not simply running around with a gun—you have different abilities and body modifications that can completely change how you approach a fight. The game encourages aggressive play, but you still have to think about positioning, resources, extraction and whether a fight is actually worth taking. That's where the game can be really exciting. One moment you're searching for loot, and the next you're fighting another squad while trying to decide whether to continue looting or get out before everything goes wrong. That tension is exactly what I want from an extraction shooter. ## 🔫 Gunplay The shooting is one of the better parts of the game. Weapons generally feel powerful and satisfying, and there is enough variety to make different loadouts interesting. However, I don't always feel that the gunplay is as consistent as it should be. There are moments where fights feel great, and other moments where hit registration, animations, or general combat feedback can make an encounter feel less satisfying. It's not necessarily bad gunplay—it's just not as polished as I would expect from a game trying to compete in such a competitive genre. ## 🦾 Cybernetic System This is probably the feature that makes Off The Grid stand out. The cybernetic upgrades and abilities give the game its own identity. Instead of simply having different guns and grenades, your character can use technology that changes the way you fight and move around the map. This creates some really interesting situations. The problem is that the balance can sometimes feel questionable. Some abilities are much more useful than others, and when certain combinations become popular, fights can start feeling repetitive. The system has huge potential, but I think it needs more balancing and refinement. ## 🗺️ The World The cyberpunk world looks fantastic. The environment, architecture, lighting and overall atmosphere are probably some of the strongest aspects of the game. You can tell a lot of effort went into making the world feel like an actual place rather than just another generic shooter map. There are moments where I stop playing and just look around because the environment genuinely looks impressive. But visually impressive doesn't always mean the world feels alive. Some areas can feel empty, and sometimes the map doesn't feel like it's being used to its full potential. I would love to see more dynamic events, more reasons to explore different areas, and more things happening around the player. ## 📦 Extraction Gameplay The extraction mechanics are where things become interesting. The basic idea works: enter the map, collect valuable resources, fight other players and NPCs, complete objectives, and try to extract without losing everything. When you have something valuable and you're trying to get out, the game can create some really good tension. But I don't think the extraction experience is as deep as games like Escape from Tarkov. Tarkov is extremely focused on its hardcore survival mechanics, economy, inventory management and progression. Off The Grid feels much more accessible. Personally, I think that's both a strength and a weakness. It's easier to get into, but players looking for an extremely deep hardcore extraction experience may find it lacking. ## 🤖 PvE and Enemies The PvE side is useful because it gives you something to do besides constantly fighting players. However, the AI can sometimes feel predictable. Enemies don't always feel intelligent enough to create the kind of pressure I would like from an extraction shooter. I think the PvE side could become much more interesting if the developers add more enemy types, better AI, dynamic events and more meaningful objectives. ## 👥 PvP PvP is where the game can become extremely chaotic. You can be perfectly fine one minute and completely destroyed the next. That's part of the fun. But there are also moments where PvP feels frustrating rather than exciting. Balance, abilities, third-party fights and inconsistent encounters can sometimes make deaths feel like they happened because of the game's systems rather than because another player simply outplayed you. That's something I hope gets improved over time. ## 📈 Progression The progression system is decent, but I don't think it's one of the game's strongest features. There are plenty of things to unlock and work toward, but I sometimes don't feel that same satisfying sense of progression that I get from games that are built around long-term character development. The game needs stronger reasons to keep coming back after you've already experienced the basic gameplay loop. ## 🎨 Graphics Visually, Off The Grid is impressive. The cyberpunk aesthetic looks great, and when the lighting and environment come together, the game can look genuinely beautiful. But the graphics come with a price. Performance can be demanding, especially on lower-end hardware. Even if your PC can technically run the game, maintaining a stable frame rate can be a different story. For a competitive shooter, performance consistency is extremely important. I'd rather have slightly worse graphics with a stable high frame rate than beautiful graphics that cause stutters or inconsistent performance. ## 🔊 Sound The sound design is generally good. Weapons have enough impact, the environment has atmosphere, and the overall audio helps create the futuristic feeling of the game. But I think audio could still be improved in terms of clarity during combat. In an extraction shooter, being able to understand exactly where enemies are is extremely important, so footsteps, gunshots and directional audio need to be extremely reliable. ## 🧩 Bugs and Technical Problems This is probably the biggest issue I have with the game. Off The Grid still feels like a game that needs more polishing. Depending on your hardware and the current state of the game, you can run into performance problems, bugs, glitches, visual issues or other technical problems. And that's frustrating because the actual game underneath those problems is genuinely interesting. I don't mind a game having bugs during development or early access. But when technical problems start affecting competitive gameplay, it becomes much harder to ignore them. ## 🏆 What I Like * Great cyberpunk atmosphere * Interesting cybernetic abilities * Fun and fast combat * Extraction mechanics can create great tension * Good weapon variety * Beautiful environments * PvP can be extremely intense * More accessible than hardcore extraction shooters * Has its own identity instead of simply copying Tarkov ## ❌ What I Don't Like * Performance can be inconsistent * Technical issues can hurt the experience * Some systems still feel underdeveloped * PvE AI could be much better * Progression could be more rewarding * Balance needs more work * Some areas of the world feel empty * The extraction experience isn't as deep as the hardcore competitors * The game still feels like it needs more polishing ## ⭐ Final Verdict Off The Grid is **not a bad game at all**. Actually, I think the opposite. It has a genuinely good foundation and some ideas that I really like. The cybernetic system, cyberpunk w

Мне реально понравилось но настолько калловоя оптимизация это просто ♥♥♥♥♥♥
It’s a fun game overall but it seriously lacks depth. I really like the original ideas, like the ability to fly and the swappable arms and legs, they movment reminds me a bit of another battle royale (Bloodhunt) but the game doesn’t do enough with them. The only competitive mode being teams is also disappointing... I’d much rather play competitive solo but that’s simply not an option for some reason. I really wish this game had more support and a clearer direction because there’s definitely something interesting here. Sadly in its current state I can’t recommend Off the Grid even though I personally enjoy some aspects of it. 4/10 Optimization 8/10 Graphics 5/10 Combat 7.5/10 Movement 8.5/10 Concept 0/10 Direction Basically just another poorly optimized UE5 asset flip with a bunch of AI stuff and crypto features thrown into it. I may consider changing my mind if the game becomes something better in the future.
Cant even play. Died for no reason three times while playing and got kicked out of the match.
this game has been low fps since day one, but as someone into movement shooters i check in on this game every now and again because the concept of the game is pretty cool and the recent reworks seemed legit, i got excited when i noticed their recent performance improvements post, but after testing it out on lowest settings it can hit higher fps in the practice range, but actual gameplay pretty much runs the same, and certain abilities and effects tank the fps drastically, even in the range. so yeah it feels pretty badly optimized, especially when compared to other free games. its basically unplayable with screen tearing and frame drops, ill change my review when performs as well as other f2p titles :P
Every time i get into a game I can play for 30 seconds then I am forcefully removed to the lobby. Cool.
I would love this play this game, but it runs horrible. Half the time it doesn't even load. WHY. I have a 5k PC.
it is a engaging game that has good developers and is worth the beta
Game used to be pretty fun but this last update has made the game unplaying. They claim there is more FPS blah blah blah. Game now looks like playdough and lags like a mf. Been a year but I'm out
Полнейшая хyета. Не тратьте своё время даже, лагающая не оптимизированная помойка, максимум что можно - это играть на плейстейшн против ботов
