Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate.

Stats
How fast this game is gaining ratings — the activity signal available where a store publishes no sales or install numbers.
Measured from our own daily snapshots, not reported by the store. Deliberately not converted into sales: a one-tap rating's ratio to copies sold is unknown on this platform, and guessing it would be worse than leaving it out.
Sums Google Play only; App Store publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Reviews
Bad The app keeps crashing
Stop Stop asking me to review the app everytime I finish a puzzle
Two problems in the newest version Before the latest upgrade I would have given it five stars. Two things bug me now: 1. It asks for a review every time you complete the daily crossword. 2. Hints don’t open in the NYT app anymore, so it’s hard to go back and forth if it’s a particularly tough puzzle. You always have to scroll through everything you’ve already read. And as of yesterday it started crashing several times while solving the big crossword.
Don’t Like Updates I keep getting asked to review even though I’ve submitted one. Also I don’t like that the warning to check the puzzle comes on now every time you check a puzzle. There should be an option to turn off—especially for puzzles from the archives.
Hardly valid words sometime This is a fun app, but sometimes the words the game authors choose for the day are arguably not even real words. Like the word to figure out for today was “Pshaw.” Idk why this is considered a word cause it’s just the sound someone makes when they’re unhappy about something (that’s basically the definition of it). AUTHOR’s OF THE GAME, PLEASE USE REAL WORDS.
NYT Games is my everything I love it sooooooo much ❤️❤️❤️
Latest Update is terrible I love NYT Games and have never had a problem running it on my iPad. The latest update has really been terrible. Lots of lagging on opening individual games. Have to shut down and reopen to try and get Pips to respond. Crosswords take ages to move to the next level game and update and finished. Please fix these problems
Too much going on Just give me the crossword. Stop trying to cross sell other apps or embed web views
Perfect App I play daily. It’s great for passing time on the commute or while waiting. Started as a complete newbie but can now solve most puzzles. Fun to do, and I learn something, too. My only quibble is that the developers recently changed it so that you can’t open the daily crossword column and swipe between the puzzle and the column. You have to keep opening and closing the column to get back to the puzzle, which is a little annoying.
Crashing constantly Pretty nice app. Latest update is awful. Can’t get through a game without the app crashing multiple times.
