Nyanroo: The Supercat is a fairly unique take on retro platformer nostalgia. Not because it turns the genre on its head or anything, but rather because It seeks to ape the feel of classic Genesis platformers and it isn't a Sonic The Hedgehog clone. Everything from the control scheme to the soundtrack wears that inspiration on its sleeve, and yet it doesn't flatly try to recreate the games it takes that inspiration from. It's a bit chunky, and a bit short, but the levels are varied and ultimately it's fun. A bit of snacky nostalgia-powered goodness that is well worth a few hours of your time.
This is an all around nice platformer. XD If I have questions or concerns, I will be sure to post them!
Pretty fun game so far. I love how charming it is, especially with the arcade-like aesthetic it has going. Platforming has just the right amount of challenge to it to be fair and fun, it does have some very occasional hiccups with platforms being hard to see. Generally speaking though I don't think the camera ever got to be a constant annoyance, I had a lot of fun with the game! Can't wait to see what comes next!
Absolutely love the music and the boss fights. There are still some small bugs and typos I noticed, but nothing that hinders enjoying the experience this game offers. Mudge is easily my favorite boss fight, and the parrot was definitely amazing. I also really love that each boss fight offers players a unique challenge different from the previous ones. The Yarn power ups that were added since the demo are also really rad. Keep up the good work, all! <3
Standard indie platformer with some fun mechanics and low price. The story revolves around a magical cloth that bestows special abilities to those deserving over generations. It all begins in the modern era, with the current hero battling his antagonist. His cloth falls to the ground and chooses the next available candidate after the hero sacrifices himself to unleash an ultimate attack that also annihilates the villain. This time, however, the cloth chooses a cat. The gameplay is that of a traditional platformer. The cat's primary skills are attack and jump, however a variety of moves can be purchased or enhanced. There are also special abilities that last only for a limited amount of time. Each stage has its own ability, but they can only be activated by finding a ball of yarn. The game's collectibles are fish. They are divided into two types: those for replenishing health and those for purchasing items. The shop can be reached from any checkpoint along the way. This is significant since the cat has only nine lives. When you run out of lives, the game ends and the stage must be redone. So it’s a good idea to buy them. Enemies are different animals who seek to harm you. There are crabs with claws, bats drooping sticky material that slows you down, chickens on fire, and an abundance of other intriguing enemies. They are simple to eliminate because they only require one or two hits. They respawn when you move far enough away, but this isn't a problem. The stages are mostly linear. The objective is to reach the end and destroy an orb. When you hit it, enemies begin to defend it, but you can simply ignore them and hammer the attack button until the orb explodes. The exciting aspect of stages are the so-called hero objectives. These encourage you to thoroughly examine a stage in order to find everything. For instance, the first stage in the city requires you to enter windows and save various pets, while the second stage in the sewers requires you to destroy garbage bags. Completing them isn't critical. You get a few more points at the end, but there are no rewards for doing well. A stage gets a shining star, but that's all. Another nice feature is that you can replay stages.
JUEGAZO 😎👍💛🌟
Golden Shelves knows perfectly everything that made the games of yesteryear great and captures it masterfully in Nyanroo The Supercat
A beautiful art that will bring you nostalgia if you are a lover of the SNES and Megadrive era Enemies and levels that will challenge your skill An immersive soundtrack Charismatic characters Very well done pop culture references It is a video game that, even being in early access, is very worth it, it is a very satisfying experience that leaves you wanting more
Super recomendo jogarem e apoiarem :D
