A fun game to start, but that's it. With no respwan resources, no respwan contracts, limited fuel and your save is "save by move", just don't waste time. Oh, if you engage enemy and load the "last save game", enemy still attack you - there is no "last save game".
Fun game, It needs a little polish but I like where it's going.
So far so good. This reminds me of games I used to play when I was younger.
I can't think of a game in the past which sets the players behind the cockpit of their starship, has grid-based movement turn-based during exploration mode, while combat is real-time like, say, Dungeon Master. So, if only for this aspect, kudos to the one-man band developer for bringing something more to the "cosmic crawling" genre (if that's a word). As of today, the game is fully playable, but the developers is still working on it, tweaking and adding features and generally growing the game by implementing the player's feedback (mostly, this is done via discord). I got good vibes out of this game and found myself to be quite hooked on playing it, even for short sessions when i have 10 or 15 minutes of downtime. There are some aspects of the game that imho needs some polish and some others - like the crafting system - that have potential and could use some improvement/expansion. All in all, a game that i'm glad to have bought and that i will follow in its development. Thumbs up.
Learned about this game from one of the YouTubers I watch and boy am I glad I did. This is a dream game for anyone who grew up on original Elite games and Wing Commander. The game drips nostalgic atmosphere by the bucket. Everything from the visuals to the sound effects brings you back to when you were in middle school and couldn’t wait to come home so you could boot up Elite and pretend you are a bad ass space pirate and take everyone else’s lunch money for a change… Gameplay so far seems addictive in a must do quests to upgrade my ship to do more quests kind of way. Strangely zen. Definitely see myself putting some fun hours into this. Also the game can run on a potato and is less than a gig of space. TLDR: Starfield and Elite Dangerous wish they were this game.
Null horizon is a little gem of a game. Its early access and I get the sense the dev has put his heart and soul into it. Like any early access game it has its problems but this one is headed in the right direction for a space dungeon crawler. IMO its a good throwback to the old dungeon crawlers of the 90's. It does a good job at giving you enough information to make the game fun but doesn't give to much to hand hold. Here are some suggestions to the dev that I think would be an upgrade or just add more fun. 1. Implement in-depth quests with branching dialog choices. I would love to see some sectors, if that is what the playfields are called, with a unique quests. These could span multiple sectors as well. Call them side quests. The fetch/scan/kill missions you have are nice to get you started. 2. When you land on planets or space stations there could be an option to get out of your ship and walk around. This could lead to other areas of exploration or to gather resources or missions. I could even see missions taking form on the planet/station itself. 3. Tighten up the interface more. It seems a bit cluttered and it seems to overlap in places. Also I know your trying to go for a cockpit look but honestly it is not needed. At least not in my opinion.
Neat space crawler, that has some interesting ideas. Can't wait to see where they go from here.
Got the game thanks to Splattercat. Seems like it will expand more in the future. So far, fun for a quick session. Will let it cook more.
