Looking to become a pirate? A bounty hunter? A space traveler? You can do all of that in this game! It’s a very fun and easy to understand game just make sure you don’t skip the tutorial like I did
This game comes very close to a grid-type game which I played in the 90s, EGATREK, with the difference here that there is actually a live combat and many upgradable items for your ship, plus you can buy a lot of different ships for the actual purpose of what you do in the game. There is also some sort of economy with random events happening that can favor or harm your status. Question is if you like this retro design, IMO it doesn't hamper the challenge and fun and the presentation as a whole and the grafics, all this is well done. The game can be played as turned-based or in real time, a nice design choice, plus a permadeath mode, all these settable in the Options menu. A nice game, not too complex, just right to take a break.
13/10 love LOVE Love this game! Seeing it develop into the game it is now has been a thrilling ride of nostalgia based fun. Reminiscent of games from my childhood, it has a good blend of mystery, action, and adventure. Getting to choose what kind of pilot you want to be is a great addition as well! Definitely worth playing and have already recommended it to my friends!
Not sure what this was meant to be... Thought it might be a fun little FTL type, but I can't even get past depth 1. Doesn't tell you how to do that anywhere. Just says "Get to depth 8!" with zero explanation of how to do that. tried a few saves over and over. Did everything in the sector until I ran out of money every time. You have so little fuel and there's so little to do you are likely to run out of resources within a few battles. There's no good way to make money that I can find, you might get lucky finding something to sell, but the contracts deplete your resources while you complete them so you gain almost nothing. Battles seem pointless and will likely kill you unless you are specifically going for fighter pilot. Can't make enough money to get any upgrades because I need everything I make for fuel and repairs. Seems like there is a very specific way they want you to play that I'm not seeing, micro-managing every little resource and decision while having nothing to really do, nothing worth playing for me.
This game is super interesting so far and I found myself playing for a long game session of about 4 hours and am very much enjoying it! There is for sure a learning curve where some things are not directly explained. Took me a little longer than I thought it would take to figure out how to get to more Depths within the game, almost lost me as well since I felt there was nowhere to continue once you complete all contracts at planets and or stations. I didn't start the tutorial from the get go, but I'm very glad I went back and did to show me that we needed the Warp Cells to get to the next Depth. The mini game of Smugglers Gambit within the Void OS was def fun once I understood the mechanic of it! However, the rules are VERY hard to read tilted away. I also honestly didn't even read them for a few rounds not fully understanding what the objective was. Once I understood the primary rule was to have a score as close to zero, i was quickly addicted lol. The art style is simple yet satisfying. The audio works well. The game mechanics are growing, but good once you learn the best way to operate. Some minor things/changes suggested in the discord for future content. ** I'm sure I will have more to add to this in the coming days/weeks as I continue to play. Very much want to complete the Primary Directive! :)
While not necessarily my cup of tea, the game has huge potential for anyone who's into resource mining, active combat, unique areas with procedural generation, and cosmic horror on top. It's a product of love from a solo dev who has made an intricate world that has much in store for anyone brave enough to delve deeper and discover what lies beyond.
This is fun. Im not used to PC games, but this has me rethinking. Very much looking forward to spending more time figuring this out.
gg
Decently original in the aspect of mixing turn based and realtime though I found the basic gameloop a bit to simplistic for me to get engaged, I encountered no real bugs or issues though and there is definitely a game for someone who'd look for different values so still a thumbs up from me.
