I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.

Nuclear Contingency is a top-down stealth action game developed and published by Amaterasu Software that blends Cold War politics with covert military operations. Set in an alternate version of history beginning in 1959, the game imagines a world where escalating geopolitical tensions have allowed dangerous insurgent forces in Southeast Asia to pursue nuclear weapons. This fictional scenario provides the backdrop for an international espionage campaign in which players assume the role of a highly trained operative assigned to prevent a global catastrophe. Rather than relying solely on explosive action, the game emphasizes calculated decision-making, secrecy, and tactical execution, giving it a distinct identity among independent stealth titles. The campaign unfolds across several years and transports players to numerous international hotspots where conflict is brewing. Missions span locations such as Vietnam, Cuba, Afghanistan, the Congo, and other politically unstable regions, creating the impression of participating in a worldwide intelligence operation. Every assignment contributes to a larger narrative centered on dismantling hostile organizations before they can unleash devastating nuclear attacks. Although the story follows a relatively straightforward structure, it effectively captures the atmosphere of Cold War espionage through its international settings, military themes, and escalating global stakes. Stealth forms the heart of the gameplay experience. Players are encouraged to observe enemy patrols, exploit blind spots, and carefully navigate hostile territory instead of engaging every opponent in direct combat. Rushing into heavily guarded facilities almost always results in failure, making patience and planning essential skills. The overhead perspective offers an excellent view of enemy movement and environmental layouts, allowing players to analyze situations before committing to an approach. This design rewards careful preparation and provides satisfying moments when a difficult objective is completed without triggering alarms. Combat is available when situations spiral out of control, but it rarely serves as the preferred solution. Firearms and equipment allow players to defend themselves when necessary, yet resources are limited enough to discourage reckless firefights. The game consistently reinforces the importance of remaining undetected, making every successful infiltration feel earned. Objectives range from eliminating high-value targets and sabotaging enemy facilities to collecting sensitive intelligence and escaping hostile compounds. This mission variety keeps the campaign engaging while encouraging players to experiment with different tactical approaches. The environments are designed with stealth gameplay in mind, featuring military installations, jungle encampments, urban compounds, and secure facilities that provide multiple routes toward mission objectives. Players can often choose between direct infiltration, hidden passages, or carefully timed movements through enemy patrol patterns. While the maps are not exceptionally large, they contain enough strategic options to reward exploration and repeated playthroughs. Finding safer paths or more efficient methods of completing objectives adds replay value beyond simply reaching the mission's conclusion. Graphically, Nuclear Contingency adopts a practical visual style that prioritizes gameplay clarity over technical spectacle. Character models, structures, and environmental details are relatively simple, reflecting the game's independent development, yet they effectively communicate important gameplay information. The top-down presentation ensures that visibility remains clear even during tense encounters, while explosions, weapon effects, and interface elements remain functional without becoming distracting. Although the visuals may not impress players accustomed to modern AAA productions, they successfully support the tactical focus of the experience. The audio complements the stealth-oriented gameplay with military-inspired music and sound effects that reinforce tension throughout each mission. Quiet infiltration sequences benefit from restrained background tracks, while alarms, gunfire, and explosions heighten the urgency whenever plans go wrong. Sound cues also play an important gameplay role by helping players identify nearby threats and monitor enemy activity. While the soundtrack is not especially memorable on its own, it contributes effectively to the game's atmosphere and reinforces the feeling of operating behind enemy lines. One of the game's strongest qualities is its dedication to its Cold War premise. The international scope of the campaign, combined with espionage-driven objectives and the looming threat of nuclear warfare, creates a compelling sense of purpose throughout the adventure. Instead of focusing exclusively on combat, the game presents intelligence work as the key to preventing worldwide disaster, making successful stealth operations feel genuinely meaningful within the broader narrative. The game is not without flaws. Enemy artificial intelligence occasionally follows predictable routines, reducing the challenge once patrol patterns become familiar. Some objectives also begin to feel repetitive during extended sessions, and the overall production values reveal the limitations of a smaller development team. Players seeking deep systemic stealth mechanics or cinematic storytelling may find certain aspects lacking. However, these shortcomings are balanced by focused mission design and gameplay that remains consistently enjoyable for fans of tactical infiltration. Overall, Nuclear Contingency delivers a solid stealth experience that successfully combines Cold War intrigue with mission-based tactical gameplay. Its emphasis on careful planning, worldwide espionage, and strategic infiltration creates an engaging adventure that stands apart from more action-oriented shooters. While its presentation and mechanics occasionally show their age, the game's commitment to stealth and international espionage makes it an enjoyable choice for players who appreciate thoughtful, methodical gameplay. Rating: 6/10

Honestly I didn't have any high hopes due to my first impressions on the store page, but the game surprised me immensely Gameplay is rewarding, story seems like a ripoff from most action counter terrorist attack movies, but it kept me going The only downside is the impossibility of full screen mode, but the game has cards ★★★★ / ★★★★★
