I want to say that this was a really fun game to play, but the controls were a bit sludge-like for me. When I played with the controller, things didn't work very well in such a way that I wondered if I was supposed to press a button for things to be cleared away from the screen, and when I used the keyboard, I had a bit of difficulty playing around on the phone apps. I loved the art, music, animations, and the story and world were super interesting. I wish I could have seen what the Astro Link actually did, in some way, but I like that we get to see that there is a place to see how your responses and actions will effect the links you have with the people around you. Also, I streamed this game on Twitch (as well as put it on my Youtube), and today I finished out the game and I was not expecting to read out loud what I did. It was hilarious for the viewers, and I will find it funny when I get over the embarrassment. I hope that you guys put in more hilarious and embarrassing things for Content Creaters to read out, because that was amazing.

The UI makes no sense. Sometimes it's space to advance, or T, or a click. Then the game encourages you to use other apps on the phone, but you can only advance to the next scene by going back to whatever text you finished and advancing that. The intro startup is also unskippable, and so are the transformation sequences. The combat UI is probably the worst. I have no clue whose turn it is, who is next, and then when one turn ends, the whole thing shifts around.
I didn't think I would have liked this so much given that turn-based combat isn't exactly my thing and "press A to keep text flowing" games generally repulse me but hey it got me good, it's pleasant and I really love the artstyle but most importantly I'm hard crushing on Will enough that I will buy the game, keep it coming <3

I'm primarily leaving this review in hopes of getting some feedback to the devs. I love the concept: superheroes and dating, what's not to like?! If that sounds interesting to you at all, then I wholeheartedly recommend trying out this demo or the one on the main store page for the game -- it's free and then you can see for yourself what you think. The art style is amazing and I'm a fan of games with turn-based combat as well. My main concern is how slow everything feels. I like the way the text message conversations are written, with characters talking at length across multiple texts just like real people do. But when a character takes 7 lines to express something, and each of those lines takes 2-3 seconds to appear... it adds up and you end up waiting 20 or 30 seconds to read what boils down to a simple thought. There should be options to speed up text flows and/or jump ahead by hitting a button. The pace of turns in combat was also too slow for my tastes. With the timeline-based combat system, there were a lot of animations, transitions, and button presses required to move things along. It also felt weird to do input an action (like an attack), and not see that action take place until some time later in the timeline. This delay may have magnified the overall feeling of slowness in the combat. I have wishlisted Nova Hearts and will definitely be keeping my eye on it! (Note: I actually played the demo on the main Nova Hearts store page and not this demo. From what I understand, they are very similar but the store page has a newer build, so I think my comments will still be valid.)
