Nori Game

I guess for starters the first thing anyone should know about this is that it's hot garbage. But digging a little deeper, at least for asset flip enthusiasts, is that while the high poly character models (which contrast shockingly against the complete garbage assets in the backdrops) look great... there's something... well, WRONG about them. If you actually play the game and look at the character idle animation, their face actually deforms when they idle/breathe. The "Nori" characters chin distorts bizarrely. Now, I did the usual checks when confronted with hot garbage pretending to be a game and I couldn't find the character assets on asset stores... that doesn't mean they're not flipped, but we give the benefit of the doubt. That doesn't explain the weirdness of it all, high quality looking character assets, garbage tier backdrop assets... my gut feeling is the "developer" managed to get some AI slop modeling done and pushed that into their barebones "heist" game concept, then rushed it quickly onto Steam Direct. That would explain the bizarre distortion in the animations. Slop. Watch the marketing video... the "Streamers" pretending to play the game? AI SLOP!!!! It's all fake. On to the usual stuff, dodgy AI slop aside. No matter where the assets came from, this has all the same woeful quality as every other Russian asset flip. This is a dead PvP game. Why did "Nori Game" fail? Time for a video game autopsy. [i]Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails.[/i] Hard truth. Developers often assume just because they published their game, it's going to "go viral". I'm guessing this is a case of the developers making this game in complete isolation without even bothering to look at what other PvP games on Steam already offer. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The assets look a little mismatched but they're also much higher quality than the actual game. It's a bit of a red flag for an asset flip, but there's no evidence or smoking gun in this case. While there's no proof, the overall low quality of the actual "game" part (an important part of the whole package that makes up a game) is indistinguishable from an asset flip, and no matter where the assets came from, the quality here is bad. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. These technical shortcomings push this game below minimum standards for any competently developed modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The fun part means that this four player heist game has NEVER been played multiplayer. Shocking. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Nori Game is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. There's enough defects and quality problems with this game that it's really impossible to recommend to gamers. There are over 140,000 games on Steam, not every one of them is a hidden gem. I'm here to try help gamers find the ones that actually matter in that sea of Steam Direct self published mess. If you don't agree with my findings in this review, you should definitely buy it, download it, and play it to see for yourself. dumb enemies, dumb combat mechanics (he literally just waves his arms around), but I built a fence, scoured for loot, and barged into other people's homes enjoy

It’s unlikely to be your dream game, the graphics are very basic—maybe even a bit too much so... But I like building and surviving. And collecting loot, too. You can do all that here! Overall, it looks like an early access version of an early game. But it has potential! I hope they don’t abandon development! It’s cheap, so I’m not upset! We’ll see...

Absolute madness! This game is lowkey peak chaos once everyone starts griefing for that last chest. Legit stressful trying to clutch a win while dodging blue energy orbs and building fences on the fly. If you’re looking to ruin some friendships, this is it. Pure vibes.

It feels like early access... but it's not, right?! + Old-school graphics (not sure if that was intentional) + Lots of loot I'm playing as Gobly lol

It's probably one of the cheapest games, but I've been waiting for a sale on it for over a month... I didn't buy it as soon as it was released, but I can't wait any longer!!! So, here are some observations from today: 1) It feels like early access 2) You can tell there's AI intervention and some pre-made assets. 3) There's not much content, but more than I expected I was willing to do anything for 99 cents, but it's not as bad as I thought. Damn, I would just put on a helmet and a Viking costume, go into the hut and take out a whole chest in my hands. I've been doing the absurd quests of the game: go, do this, do that, and then come back... do it again! After a while, I got a cape, and it fluttered behind me in the wind, and I rushed off on another stupid "QUEST" that gave me absolutely NOTHING. There's no point in looking for a storyline or action here....YOU WON'T FIND ANY. This is a fan game. But I still don't understand how multiplayer and co-op work here???????
