Very relatable and sweet little game 10/10
This game is so simple, and still so meaningful. I have never seen anything that really hit so close to home, it felt like I was playing a story of my life. I think I am going to cry now.
Gioco breve ma molto intenso, emotivamente parlando. Abbiamo pianto per metà del gameplay...

Rating: 9/10 Non-binary tells the story of two lives that come to realize their gender identity in a life of enforced gender roles. Even from the beginning of the characters lives, you are immediately attacked by the expectations and role that everyone around you wants you to fill. As an agender person myself, I loved the game even more as it really does show what it is like from either side, AFAB or AMAB. It's easy to play and there is a lot of different ways for the story to go depending on your choices and how far you make it in the bullet hell. I would highly suggest when reading to dodge the bullets first, then read after. Alright here's for the details: Graphics: The entire game is made of simple shapes, but that is in no way a downfall. Not only does it make it much easier to focus on the text and bullets, it really helps to drive the theme. Difficulty: The difficulty can be adjusted to standard to hard, and if you are worried about it being too hard, it really is not! If you get hit too many times, you still get an ending based on where you got, not a certain time quota you have to reach. Game Length: I've done a few runs, and it depends on how you play and how far you get. I would suggest doing both the AMAB and the AFAB stories, which can both be completed in less than an hour. Replay ability: Non-binary is a game with several different endings, or routes to go down. You have two characters to follow and at the different points that you "loose" or "die" creates a different ending dialogue. Additionally there are several different dialogue choices as well. On top of that, you can also do the harder mode for the bullet hell and play that way. I would highly recommend doing more than just the one playthrough of each character. It doesn't feel too repetitive as you can skip through the dialogue pretty quickly to get to the part you want, just be careful not to get hit when you do that! Trigger warnings: While the story can be really sad, and most of the comment section says they were desperately trying to dodge and read through tears, there aren't many trigger warnings that I think need to be mentioned besides the occasional LGTBQIA+ slur. If this triggers you I wouldn't recommend playing, but otherwise the game is very mild. So would I recommend? Yes! It doesn't matter what your own gender identity is, the game is perfect. If you are just looking for a story, minigame, or an insight into what it's like to be non-binary, the game does all of that. If you yourself are non-binary, the game will probably really resonate with you and your own experiences. All in all 10/10 game.
Amazingly heartfelt stories, now I feel like I understand a little bit better.
a very short game (took me 30 minutes to play both routes for the first time) but a powerful one, especially if you're non-binary (or LGBTQ+ really) and have had similar experiences with being forced to comply to gender norms for no reason other than "because that's life (huh?)". i'm seeing a lot of reviews saying the game made them cry, but sadly i can't say likewise. my entire mood while playing this was "♥♥♥♥ yeah im a boygirl, are you gonna cry about it? piss and ♥♥♥♥ your gender-assigned clothes or something?" so i can't really say if this game will pull on your heartstrings or not, you'll have to play for yourself (psstt, did i mention you can finish the game in 30 minutes? did i also mention that it's free?) :3<

some things i liked !!
i think it's great that the moment you hit "start" the character you play as (AFAB or AMAB) is randomised!! really drives home the whole point of "these strangers want to control you based on something you didn't even choose", and also give you a new (but similar!!) experience whether you yourself are AMAB or AFAB. my favorite part was when the AMAB protagonist (spoiler?)
called out their brother like "come up with new insults other than slurs, you ain't original and you're not making sense if you say you love me"
also yes, this game uses slurs every now and then so be warned

some things i didn't like ??
the only "bad" aspects of this game i can think of are: - at times you don't know who is talking. both stories feature the same characters, but even after realising that i still had trouble keeping up with names. this didn't really hinder my playthrough, there aren't that many characters, it's more of a pet peeve - both stories are very short and basic at times. this could be a pet peeve to some, but to me personally it wasn't. i think this allows anyone playing to see themselves as the protagonist, and the situations portrayed are eerily universal. i had situations from both routes that made me clutch my pearls and say "omg this happened to me once", and just because they're short doesn't make them any less impactful

most bad reviews are from sad sad hetero cis folk who throw tantrums when something doesn't fit into their neat little boxes, hoping a swift recovery for them 🙏🙏
keep slaying on the haters, dear darling enbies (and queers!!) !! they're just jealous of your pride🖤💜🤍💛 AND REMEMBER, YOU'RE NOT ALONE 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Stunning stories. A lot of thought put into this.
I think every binary person should play this, cis or not I hate being nonbinary and I hate knowing that I'll never be accepted by the people around me. At least these two can give me hope.... and hope to others like me too :,)
