Sadly, Nijowari: Where Angels Fall has less to do with actual angels but is meant rather in a metaphorical sense. Nonetheless, as much as I love those wonderful creatures, I love angel-like characters just as much, so that worked out fine for me. I have to admit that, due to Nijowari: Where Angels Fall’s story having a quite dramatic touch, my heart broke while playing this visual novel, yet that only shows that the narrative is splendid and I found myself getting frustrated with the happenings more than I thought I would while cursing myself for not being able to do anything besides enduring the rather sad moments which occurred more than enough. Nijowari: Where Angels Fall tells two separate stories. In the first one, William Steele is just a young guy when his life made a complete dramatic turn and eventually realizes that his region isn’t only his home but also worth fighting for. In the end, he becomes a so-called “fixer” that helps out other people. The second story, on the other hand, revolves around Adeia Berith who happened to be a newcomer to Nijowari. While she gets introduced to a rather peaceful life in this town at first, she notices very soon that hell awaits her in this life. To be honest, I preferred the second story about Adeia a lot more than the one about William Steele, although it’s clear that Adeias is meant to be the main story as it’s lengthier as well. All in all, I liked the idea that these two different stories begin to merge at some point, while the reader has no clue how to connect the stories at first, yet I wasn’t really interested in William and found that it didn’t contribute to the story a lot, besides knowing more about the actual happenings in his past. With this story getting more in the political genre, I couldn’t quite warm up to it, but as the end is left very open for a possible second entry, I guess William might play a bigger role in the future, but as of now I would say that the second story is much more impactful and left a bigger impression on me overall. Talking about the genre, I loved that Nijowari: Where Angels Fall merges different genres so the reader will definitely find one or another aspect very interesting. As aforementioned, the first story has a more political touch, but the second one is entirely different as it includes sci-fi and romance. I’d say the common thing between them is that both stories are quite dramatic and show a lot of difficulties and cruelties in life. That being said, even the times the stories take place varied and so, Adeia’s story takes place in a futuristic world with self-drive cars and robots. But that also meant when you’re not really interested in one of the stories’ genres, you’re stuck with it and it might get very draggy. As already hinted at, Nijowari: Where Angels Fall is a visual novel that is rather emotional and sad. While slice-of-life and light-hearted scenes are available here, it’s only the minor part of the game. Most of the time, I found myself feeling bad for the characters and wanting to help them out but sadly, that wasn’t possible and as the story went on, I silently prayed that there will be a happy end for them all. After all, the protagonists deserved it. I have to admit I wasn’t really satisfied with the end and it rather left a sour taste in my mouth but that was something I guessed would happen in the end. Whilst it wasn’t exactly the happily ever after I hoped for, the end leaves enough room for a follow-up game to either break my heart once again or have some mercy with me. Although Nijowari: Where Angels Fall contains a few choices, it’s pretty much a kinetic novel as there is only one end available. Decisions don’t make a big difference here but only change a small scene afterward. I liked that the reader had the opportunity to choose an answer, so it will feel like they actually have an impact on the story, even if the text didn’t vary a lot. However, there are only a handful of decisions available throughout the visual novel. During my playthrough with Nijowari: Where Angels Fall I felt really helpless due to the small changes in the outcome of choices which got me quite frustrated. But that’s something I definitely enjoyed about the game as it managed to make me feel despair along with the characters. Nijowari: Where Angels Fall does contain a lot of stunning CGs and character sprites, however, something I didn’t like was the backgrounds. The developers updated them and it looks like they just put a filter on real-life pictures that looked off since you can still tell they weren’t drawn. Now, it does not only not fit the drawn sprites, but I found it was also a total waste of the drawer’s talent as they did their job really well. That being said, there are a few small animations, such as raining, available here that made the story more lively and greatly helped with the immersion. Additionally, while Nijowari: Where Angels Fall isn’t voiced, there are still sound effects implemented which I very enjoyed overall, except for the sobbing sounds when the characters were crying. They sounded very unnatural and slightly annoyed me after a while so I just wanted to go through the text quickly and get past the crying scenes. All in all, Nijowari: Where Angels Fall tells a very touching story that managed to make me feel very frustrating due to all the unfairness the characters go through. Of course, not everything about this visual novel is sad as there are a few light-hearted slice-of-life available here that lightened up the mood – for a short while. That being said, the CGs and character sprites are gorgeous here, although I had my problems with the backgrounds. Ultimately, Nijowari: Where Angels Fall is a visual novel that deals with sensitive topics while merging a lot of different genres so the reader will very likely manage to find something they enjoy here. Although I didn’t quite enjoy the first story, the second one left quite the impression on me and I look forward to the possible next entry. The writing varies from bad to terrible. Some scenes happen too fast to make any realistic sense - for example, the first protagonist going from nobody to figurehead of a resistance movement in a couple of hours. Some other scenes are overly written. For example, the garden scene was boring and 10 times longer than necessary to convey the information / feelings it was supposed to give the player. The setting itself looked promising, but unfortunately, the story doesn't develop it at all, focusing instead on the three bland characters of the second part.
ENG: Visual Novels! A particular and intriguing genre and Nijowari: Where Angels Fall is no exception. To make this game addictive, in addition to the deliciously made drawings with care and an immersive soundtrack, is its story of justice, love and anger. A story that deals with not really light themes and the flowing but detailed writing makes this visual novel an experience like a roller coaster of emotions, making you immerse yourself in the events of the 2 protagonists and making me love and hate the other characters. I mean, I'm not a Visual Novel guy, but this game took me, touching me deeply. I can't wait for the next chapter, to experience still strong emotions.
Nijowari Where Angels Fall

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1925842211

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1925841809

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1925842041

Nijowari: Where Angels Fall

It has been the first time in which I've played a game like this, but my expectations have not been disapointed, The plot is actually very interesting in both parts of the game, nevertheless I enjoyed the most the second part. The character building is interesting and moreover the characters of the second part have a pretty funny friendship. In my opinion the best character is Maestro, I've literally had tons of amusement every time he came out on the screen, and even more when it included the redhead jajajaj. 10/10 would recommend to my friends, 310/10 if the recommendation goes to your crush.
I haven't played VN a long time ago, and i have to say that im satisfied so far with this one. To be one of the first games of this company, the quality of the scenarios, the effects, and the storytelling if far from any expectations. My review its only for the first story for now, an a american distopical future where the very great American Republic, once a "defender of the democracy in the world" face a very dark times. EEEEH ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing pls. As far as i can tell its worth the price for sure. If you like VN type of games and want and like to support new and small developers, you know what to do ;))
Follow Far2close - Visual Novel Playthroughs Curator Page Nijowari: Where Angels Fall Developer: Tsukiakari Studios, Motley Crew Publisher: Tsukiakari Studios Pros: 1. The main story revolves around Adeia Berith in the 2nd act of the game; but there is a substory involving William Steele at the beginning and these two connect with each other. William's substory is bit like a prologue, explaining the
Second American Revolution
and how William came to be how he is now. Adeia's story is how she is an advanced android; being able to experience emotions, eat, and learn as her life goes on, but her
living situation is hell.
She must adapt to her new life no matter what comes her way. The genius of the plot of William's part is that is can be a plausible event, and how Democracy could fail us. 2. The characters specifically Adeia and William, go through strong character development. William was a rowdy boy but realized that he has to accept the dark realities of life if he needs to survive. Adeia goes through a similar growth however she does have some help from Gaiane, Adeia must learn how to be independent and learn quickly in this strange new world. I enjoy Gaiane's character as she is playful and compassionate, but she is cunning and has some maneuverability to help out Adeia.
After the events in Adeia's section, it is saddening to see her with PTSD and how she is suffering through it, even if she is an android. The meeting between William and Adeia was a great sight to see in their own point of views.
3. The art is decent but it possesses a lot of different variants with facial expressions, time of day, and differing poses. Some scenes are animated too which adds to the experience. 4. There are numerous tracks in the soundtrack and it adds so much to the scenes they are in. It adds to the sadness on
Adeia's torture
along with making other scenes such as Adeia wandering the city with a track that adds in the wonder and mischief; or a pleasant day in the park with an upbeat track to add in the positivity. It does a great job in enhancing the scenes. 5. The gallery has a ton of options that you can take a look at, such as the different variations of the sprites, the items, and the bios of the characters. Cons: 1. Henry does feel like a one dimensional character, with his intentions being mostly the same throughout the entire story, without much development even until the end. Some characters could use a bit more time such as Xae and William (Adult), it can help us get to know Xae better along with seeing William more in the current timeline than previously. 2. The use of real life images works well with William's section, but I think artistic backgrounds for Adeia's section would work much better to help give a better visual on Nijowari. Conclusion: Nijowari: Where Angels Fall offers a grounded gritty story involving going through fallen democracy, pain and utilizing it to grow as an individual. Some characters could use more presence to help us know them better, but the main characters do bring their respective stories together into something great. Score: 8/10 GREAT
I really got sucked into this one, more so the second story with Adeia and Gaiane. Their story was a lot longer than William's introduction, which was very political but entertaining. Adeia's was much more heart wrenching, as it dealt with abuse (mostly verbal), so it's kind of a hard read if you're already sensitive to that. There were some good moments too, and me and my gf had fun playing around w/ theories that later proved to be true. I mostly liked Adeia's story most because of the setting. You get robots, body modification (cat girls), self-driving cars, robot cashiers...the works. It's a great VN for sci-fi lovers! On top of that, the music and art were very good! I really appreciate that there's an in-game music player! Was happy to learn I could play Seeds of Chaos on repeat. Also that ending -- really leaves you wanting for more. There's a plot point mentioned near the very end that had me hoping they'd use it, but alas. Hopefully means a sequel? Cause I'd love a happy ending.
