Cold case. Story: You play as a detective who gets a note about a murder in a secluded mansion. You're tasked to get to bottom of the case, but once you get there you find that there's some twisted secrets hidden behind the walls of the mansion. There's really not much, if any story in the game whatsoever. You get a note that gives you a very brief rundown and then you explore the mansion where all the story details you can find mean nothing cause it feels like the game already expects you to know about every character in the game which it does not do. Graphics: Visuals are a very mixed bag. The environments and character designs look pretty bad. The mansion looks barren and gives off the vibes of stock free mansion with barely anything put into it to make it feel lived in. There's some character models but there's no proportions to them so when you get close they look like they're gigantic not to mention them looking like stock free base models. However whenever you pick something up and can inspect it, these models are a lot higher resolution and a lot more detailed than anything else you find in the game, which feels weird when everything else looks subpar at best and then you pick highly detailed medicine bottle. Audio: The audio design of nightshift is nothing good. It's basically a bunch of stock free sound effects and some pretty poor ambience music, which really doesn't do much to the atmosphere, considering the entire building just feels incredibly barren, so you really won't get creeped out whatsoever. Gameplay: This is where it gets tricky to talk about nightshift. When you begin you're given a rundown on how to solve puzzles and use a gun and then you set out to use those skills in the mansion, however you very quickly learn that there's nothing to really do in the game. Puzzles boil down to finding a code and using it on a keypad, that's all there is to it. The gun you find at the start ? Well guess what there's no use for it in the game whatsoever. The game is basically an unfinished sandbox where there's remnants of a game. This game has gone through two stages of development and even now the game sort of abruptly ends. You go through every room and there's nothing to do anymore so it just sort of ends, albeit now there's definitely more content to play through. However it's even buggier and jankier than before. I managed to fall through the map twice in my short time going through the levels. Verdict: nightshift is basically an unfinished horror game, where there's not much to do apart from wandering around an empty mansion looking for keys and then it sort of ends. Now from what I gather the developer is pretty young so I give him props for even trying, but as is this is a pretty weak game. Final Rating: 3/10 Pros: + Textures are pretty detailed once you pick them up Cons: - Game is basically unfinished - Audio and graphics feel pretty cheap and feel like they're from a stock library - Puzzles are incredibly bland and easy - Story makes no sense If you liked this review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog and https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews

"NightShift" is a sloppy, really badly done Unity asset flip that looks like it was slapped together over a weekend as a joke. It's incomplete, buggy and janky as all hell and should be avoided by everyone. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. The game was flooded with joke reviews on day #0... some of them look like fake reviews from the developer (illegal), others are just mocking the game because it's so bad. Either way, take the review score for this with a grain of salt. Fake reviews help nobody, and can be misleading for gamers. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
am i the only who listen the developer tape?

Thank you for making a game where I can finally win :D Thanks Eric
amazing game
Gece vardiyasına hoş geldiniz! Emekli bir dedektifsiniz ve ofisinize polis departmanından bir not geliyor ancak not üzerine Kakig Kasajian'ı kimin öldürdüğünü bulmanız gerekiyor ancak evde Katili bulmanız hiç de kolay olmayacak. Şimdi şunu unutma, her zaman bak ama asla geçmişe bakma.
What A Masterpiece; majestic level design and incredible texture quality, amazing story telling and wonderful mechanics (like being able to clip troughth chairs, or picking up a wooden box). Lovable and reletable characters like the corpse on the operating bed, or amazing objects like the Glock18 pistol. The flashlight, a small electric light which gets its power from batteries and that you can carry in your hand, the "old chest" with an invisible red can when interacted with, or "principles of psychology by T. johnson", help you immerse even better in the story and can entertain the player for hours. Lets not forget the memorable acting from Eric Adams in CGI news and the "Carlos John" dossier in the starting office that, if interacted with reads a different sentences from what is seen in the texture. This game is also very nice to speedrun, you just need to take the key from the middle drawer in your office, open the door and run to the wall at the end of the 3 meters half broken corridor (the sky box is visible from the wall on the left), and as soon as the loading ends you just run towards the left of the library in front of you and clip out of the map, encountering your demise, your eternal damnation of falling endlessly in a (great) sky box void. Anyways, before ending this review I want to cite my favourite part, which must be ... the one when the png of the water shrinks and disappears under the stretched floor texture of the large and empty basement. 10/10 a Masterpiece. (jokes aside, i think this game has potential, and it had me intrigued. Good luck with college and with this project man, keep up the good work).
Good game. I like the story.
