This game should be free imo. There were no settings I could adjust and had to live with getting flashbanged by my cars' nitro. Now, I did enjoy bumping into other cars and now I'm expecting a baby car in 9 months... + The physics were fun and great! - It seemed only 1 car could actually keep with others might meed some balancing ps pressing the letter 'v' crashes the game
Another cynical and unfinished indie game. It is clear it is a cash-grab. It is unclear if the dev even played their own game or not. Pros: > It has controller support, even though Steam says it does not. > The art style is pretty decent and there seems to be a variety of levels. > 60 FPS is achievable on budget hardware, if you change your screen res to 800x600. > The physics isn't that bad. It is not as bad as Midnight GT: Primary Racer. Cons: > The controller support is half-assed, you have to hit ESC on your keyboard to open the pause menu. > The main menu looks like mobile menus and lack the basics such as Options, Settings and Game modes. > The graphics engine is not great, the shadow draw distances seems about 10 feet away from the car. > Camera seems to clip into the car during collisions. > The biggest reason to return the game is not any of that though. It is the cheating AI that goes faster than every car in the garage. At the beginning of every race the AI will go faster. Even when the AI pushes your car forward your car is still slower. Even when you have a supercar and they have generic looking sedans. If the dev only spent 1 day of work the game would at least be passable, but for now I cannot recommend it!
NHR Nitro Hyper Racing, developed and published by Nitx Games, is an indie arcade-style racing title that aims to capture the intensity of high-speed competition through accessible controls, varied track environments, and a prominently featured nitro boost system. Built with a focus on adrenaline-driven gameplay rather than deep simulation realism, it positions itself as a fast-paced racer designed for players who want quick thrills and responsive driving without the heavy complexity of full-scale racing simulators. The core of the experience revolves around traditional circuit racing across a range of themed tracks. Players compete against AI-controlled opponents on courses that span urban nightscapes, forest roads, snowy stretches, and other visually distinct environments. Each track attempts to introduce its own handling challenges, whether through sharp corners, slippery surfaces, or narrow high-speed straights. The variation in scenery helps prevent visual monotony, and the different track conditions encourage players to adapt their driving style rather than relying on a single approach. Central to the gameplay is the nitro boost mechanic, which functions as both a tactical tool and a spectacle element. Nitro can be activated to deliver short bursts of acceleration, allowing players to overtake rivals or recover from slower corners. However, effective nitro management requires timing and awareness. Triggering a boost while exiting a corner can create a decisive advantage, while activating it at the wrong moment may lead to loss of control or wasted potential. This layer of decision-making adds a strategic dimension to what would otherwise be straightforward arcade racing. Vehicle handling leans toward the arcade side of the spectrum. Acceleration is immediate, and drifting mechanics are accessible, making it possible for newcomers to feel competitive early on. The physics model emphasizes responsiveness rather than realism, which aligns with the game’s high-energy presentation. While experienced racing enthusiasts may notice limitations in depth or subtlety within the handling system, the approachable controls make it easy to jump into races without a steep learning curve. The game includes multiple single-player modes designed to extend replayability. Standard races are supplemented by time trials and season-style progression structures that reward consistent performance. As players progress, additional cars and tracks become available, creating a sense of forward momentum. Customization options allow for adjustments in appearance and basic performance attributes, giving players the opportunity to personalize their vehicles. While these systems are not deeply complex, they provide incremental goals beyond simply winning individual races. Visually, NHR Nitro Hyper Racing adopts a modern arcade aesthetic with bright lighting effects and stylized track design. Environmental details such as reflective surfaces, weather variations, and dynamic lighting contribute to the sense of speed and movement. The visual presentation does not compete with major AAA racing franchises in terms of fidelity, but it delivers enough polish to support its arcade ambitions. Sound design reinforces the high-speed tone, with engine noise, tire screeches, and energetic background music enhancing the racing atmosphere. However, despite its solid conceptual foundation, the overall execution may feel uneven for some players. The AI competitors are intended to provide adaptive and engaging races, but their behavior can sometimes feel inconsistent. Additionally, while the variety of tracks and modes helps broaden the experience, the overall content scope remains relatively modest. Players seeking extensive multiplayer features or deeply layered progression systems may find the offering limited compared to larger racing titles. Ultimately, NHR Nitro Hyper Racing is an arcade-focused indie racer that prioritizes accessibility and fast-paced competition. Its nitro-driven gameplay, varied track environments, and approachable handling make it suitable for players looking for quick bursts of racing excitement. While it may lack the depth and refinement of more established franchises, it offers a straightforward and energetic racing experience for those who enjoy arcade-style speed over simulation precision.
