Library of Realities.com review: Favorite wife of Pharaoh Ramesses II (1303-1213 BCE), Nefertari's life was celebrated with a spectacularly decorated and appointed burial chamber in Egypt's Valley of the Queens. When rediscovered in 1904 it was found to have been looted in ancient times, though the tomb itself and its splendid wall paintings remain. Modern visitors to Nefertari's tomb are restricted to avoid damage, but thankfully with this virtual reality experience you can visit it as many times as you like. Nefertari: Journey to Eternity offers exploration of this multi-level tomb, complete with detailed photographic representations of every intricately decorated wall, column and ceiling. Some rooms are lit by virtual oil-lamps which also provide an reverent ambience, but you can cast further light over the artistry with flashlights that can be activated on your controllers. The program will highlight several of the more notable paintings and provide an audio narration upon request, describing and interpreting the reasoning for their inclusion within the tomb decorations. Don't forget to take a glimpse upward also, to appreciate the ceiling of the tomb which is adorned with hundreds of sparkling stars. So far as we can determine, this experience is a faithful reproduction of this Egyptian Queen's final resting place. It features high resolution imagery and offers an uninterrupted opportunity to enjoy this ancient marvel at your own pace If we were to suggest areas where the experience could have been improved, we would have added an introduction and extended the tour to include the entrance stairs and an external view of the Valley of the Queens where this tomb is situated. This would provide location context and a sense of discovery upon entry. As it is, we recommend an introduction to this topic through Wikipedia articles before embarking on the VR tour. The tour can be experienced either as a seated or roomscale experience. Teleportation is the main way to navigate the chambers, but walking up and inspecting the walls does add to a sense of presence. Entering the two low-ceilinged annex rooms at either side of the main treasure room reveal a bug in the program, as if you're standing when you teleport into them you'll lose all vision since your head will be above the room's ceiling. This initially confused us until we bent down. Also there is no controller-based turning option, so if you're seated it's advisable to do so in a swivel chair. ✅ Well-modeled spaces with lots of graphical detail. ✅ Good (but limited) audio narration. ❌ Lacking an introduction and location context.

I love Ancient Egypt, can we expect more VR content from other Pyramids or Temples? That would be great assets in our VR Egyptian library.
Really a great product! I myself had an opportunity to visit this tomb a few years ago and I can say that the VR detalization is outstanding. You can see every crack in stone walls. Great job indeed. Wanna see more of this stuff! Just one request - please make it possible to turn the narratives off. I'm sure many people would want to feel the native atmosphere of this incredible place but it's hard to do when you see these glowing panels everywhere...
What should be an exciting guided tour is ruined by terrible UI and frequent bugs. It's such a shame because there is a great experience buried here. The in-game controllers have this really cool glow effect that casts real-time light onto the tomb's surface and this light can be brightened by tapping the B button. However, these brighter lights will randomly turn on for no reason even after you've turned them off. When both bright lights are on it drops the frame rate to below tolerable levels for VR and causes stuttering. Adjusting the graphical settings only seems to change the texture quality of the tomb, not the light quality. Turning off one of the controllers to avoid this stutter will cause a game-breaking bug where you teleport randomly every second. Also, there's no way to rotate your position with the controllers. Even though there is an adjustable arrow pointer that appears when teleporting, this has no effect on which direction you're pointing after teleportation. So you must constantly turn in circles and this is annoying if you have a tethered VR headset.
Quality is stunishing, but its unplayable in a sitting mode since lacks of turning with the joystick. Also its anoying that you can teletransport by mystake outside the tomb, reaching a big black void... I would pay for more content like this one, but sadly seems to be the only experience published by Experius VR so far...
The video makes it look better than when actually played. While I get that this game shows the state of the place, there is a lot of damage all over, I would have liked to see a digital restored version of the area that fixes all the missing parts and unevenness in the areas. The 3D scans are good but you can see seams everywhere where the sections were joined. This place is rather small and has several side rooms that if you don't duck everything disappears as the ceiling is too low, a simple cut away ceiling would help remove this as first time it happened I thought the game glitched out.
Looks beautiful! A great experience!
I wish I could "walk" inside, and not just teleport, also, when I click on the wall sometimes 2 paintings start "talking" at the same time, takes the immersion out, annoying, I have to wait them to finish to click again, I hated it when it happened. Other than that, amazing, just breathtaking. I loved it, super high quality filming... I would pay for this..
An incredibly well done tech demo of what future e-tourism will be. I'm very excited to see more of these types of experiences. A "must-have" as part of a larger set of experiences for introducing people to VR.
This is so cool! It looks really good. Its like being there. I didnt like the teleport movement but I never do. The only improvement id like is just more. Maybe some translations or background info or a version of how it may have looked. I really hope to see more of these
