good
There's a good mix of things here. I, personally, had only played nfsmw and nfs carbon before, so something i really dislike about hot pursuit is the lack of personalization options for the cars (as far as i've played, i am only able to change the colour of the cars, having to pick one from a set of given colours), compared to nfsmw where you could edit the looks of even the speedometer. Another thing that I dont like is the fact that there seem to be no options to switch to manual transmission, which, back in nfsmw, really added a feeling of realism and adrenaline, which i hoped to find here because of the good, and refreshing things this game has: it really does pack action. its not a bad kind, simply very different. at first it feels unrealistic, for example these cop takedown's screens and the damage their cars sustain, but you quickly adapt to it. the turbo and overall sense of picking up speed, the physics, i really like it and it does put your skill to the test. the game modes are also entertaining so far, they dont feel all so repetitive thanks to the changes of tracks and situations. though, i really miss the battered look cop cars could end up with in nfsmw, how you could see smoke coming from the engine bay, and i miss the ability to destroy roadblocks: you CANNOT do that here. but the visuals, game modes, physics and action in this game compensates well for that lack of thingys. and i mean, the game costs barely a buck, so that takes it to a 9.4 out of ten
Played the original hot pursuit 12 years ago every evening after school and now addicted to the remaster as an adult. This falls behind nfs heat in terms of story and exploration, but it makes up for it by being really simple. That's really the best thing about it. You pick a car, race, win, get a better car, race... no upgrades, no skill trees. It is simple, relaxing, and freaking beautiful. Campaign is good, multiplayer is probably the best among all nfs, cars handle well, and the gameplay is relaxing.
