It's a good little game.
An awesome indie game! Seriously, I don't understand why this game is so little known.... Great gameplay, innovative battle system, captivating story and a heck of a lot more to explore! Guys, get that game now!
This game was really good. The story and characters had depth and were engaging. The battle system was innovative and awesome. I loved the ability to master the battle system without having to grind out levels for character stats. I love a game that respects the player’s time.

Intresting and unique combat system
This game, to me, feels like a mix of Zelda and Lufia. Though the combat system is totally different from those... and fairly different from RPG's in general too. Your character action gauges fills up, and when it's full, they will attack or perform whatever action you have set as them to the enemy in front of them. You can move them up or down lanes, avoid hits, time defenses and counters etc. The fact Nadia the ''thief'' can steal unlimited ammount of items and it never depletes during combat is pretty crazy, a new definition to farming i guess. The graphic and art is very much so 8-bit pixel. I haven't gotten very far with the story mode yet, but i do plan on playing more. At first glance the world map seems fairly small, im not thinking this game is 60-80 or hell 100+ hrs to complete. Probably a mere 10-20. One more point that sticked out for me is that there doesn't seem to be the traditional ''levels'' and experience, the character progression so far comes from picking up shields, new wpns, learning spells. If you dont mind the graphics and like puzzles in your adventure rpg's then do buy this, best to wait during a sale though.
Nadia Was Here is a retraux indie game with simple controls, but surprisingly deep characters. Slowly over the course of this short game they grow together and as individuals as they delve into secrets hidden from the world for centuries. Along the way are more puzzles than you can shake a stick at and a unique combat system. Battles consist of your standard "wait for gauges to fill and you can attack" deal. However, that's about the only ordinary aspect of it. You can click and drag characters to different lanes as well as drag in items from a list on the bottom half of the screen to heal or attack at any time. Nadia, your thief, can steal attack items for her own use and Tereshan can copy spells for himself so long as an enemy is preparing to use the one you're after. What's more, combat can be paused with a click of the mouse or by pressing spacebar, which with proper usage can delay incoming attacks long enough to throw out a few items if your team is in danger of dying. It's pretty interesting, and the different combinations of enemies and new attacks make most encounters a bit of a puzzle to figure out how to defeat enemies without any of your characters falling. Which results in a game over. Yes, really. There is no reviving here. Either everyone stays alive or you start again from the nearest door. The autosave feature is great for less backtracking if you happen to die, and if you solve a huge puzzle, the game also saves, allowing players to take their time without worrying about finding a save point after getting through a hard one. At the time of this review, Nadia Was Here has a couple bugs that the dev hasn't fixed yet, but solutions and tips for just about anything can be found in the Steam forums. Despite the hiccups experienced, I do rec this to fans of old school games. Some puzzles can be tough as nails, and Hogan is a bit of a prickly cactus, but the satisfaction of advancement or seeing more of the characters' pasts come to light is always worth it.
A very neat little RPG-- little might need to be in quotes there, though. I'm (mostly) not an idiot, and it took me a little over 20 hours (not counting time the game was left idling) to beat it. You'll get a good amount of playtime for your money, and it's almost entirely quality playtime. There are a few snags-- there are maybe two dungeons more than there need to be, and I had to cheese a couple of the last fights by using damage dealing items. Overall, though, I found the story to be quite engaging, and the battle system has had a lot of thought put into it. Definitely worth it for the price, and it's a shame that it has so few reviews.
