Another AVN using the Unity Engine and another AVN that is brought down by it's own laziness. Not a lot of preamble. Let's get into it. Character Models: First things first. DO NOT TRUST THE GAME BANNER. Your shameful stepmom in the game itself looks NOTHING like the ad banner model. Like I said, it uses the Unity Engine, so if you've been around AVN's enough you should know what to expect. Lithe bodies with big boobs, lifeless faces and stiff hair. On the positive, when there are close ups, the skin can, and I stress, CAN look pretty good. It has tone, blemishes and texture. It proves that when effort is put in, the characters don't always have to look like shiny plastic. That being said, for the most part the characters look like shiny plastic. Faces are static and somewhat scary. Never mind about your playable character either, the model doesn't have enough presence to elaborate. While there are technically 6 female characters in the game only 4 have lewd scenes. Speaking of.... Lewd Scenes: Decent for what's being offered. Will get in a little more detail in the game play section, but suffice to say the developers at least try to make the scenes payoff for the rest of the nonsense you have to deal with. You have the usual positions as well as anal and oral. No group scenes though, which is a shame as a few of the story beats seemed to hint at the possibility. There's no toys or prominent BDSM if that's your kink, but there is one instance of choking, so just an FYI. While there are 'voices' in the game, honestly I silenced them after the 1st couple of scenes. It's generic moaning but the problem lies in this weird reverb that happens every time your current partner let's out a moan. It'll make you think your speakers are busted. Locations include your living room, an office building, a police station and outdoors by a lake. While the variety is nice, the camera is pulled in pretty close so the backgrounds won't actually add to much. All in all I've seen much worse, but I've also seen way better. Story: UGH...how I hated this. I hated this because, in story and only in story, this had so many comparisons to 'Come Home' and actual good and worthwhile game, that comparing the two makes me want to slap myself for thinking it. You live with your step mom and step sister. Your father goes missing and your trying to find him by going to locations, talking to people, getting clues...and what the heck does it matter? The spelling and grammatical errors are so bad you won't know what's going on half the time. The character motivations and personalities are all over the place. While there is technically an ending there's nothing in the way of character resolutions or arcs. When I mention laziness, the story portion of the game is the absolute definition. Game Play: Phew* Ok, calming down. Once again, there is an attempt at creating some game play mechanics, but it all comes off as half-a$$ for all intents and purposes. There are dialogue options and they attempt to bring back the old Bioware conversation mechanic of 'Nice Response,' 'Sarcastic Response,' and 'Hostile Response.' Even throw in a little bar above characters heads to see how much they like you. Which might mean something if the dialogue responses actually effected the story in any meaningful way whatsoever! You might lose out on a lewd scene (Pft* big loss) but otherwise the words mean nothing. There is a town map with different locations to go to. Nice if you want a screen saver of a cafe or a lake, but unless prompted to go, there is nothing of worth to keep visiting these locations. The game starts with a few 'search the environment for clues' mini games, but quickly abandons them after all the locations have been visited. As for the mechanics in lewd scenes? Probably where the most effort went. At the start of each scene you're prompted to click the mouse rapidly to unlock different poses and camera angles. While it's simple, it's at least something to do and gives the bare minimum of interaction. Final Thoughts: Skip it. Really. Unless it's completely free and you are frantically hard up for something, stay away. There are so many more titles out there and so many Steam sales happening that you should be able to try something of quality. 1 1/2* out of 10*

In my quest to achieve greatness or at the very least play more of the games I own, I decided to play My Shameless Step Mom, I went into the game with my expectations being set to very low. In fact, the only real saving graces for me were the fact the game had trading cards and achievements. The Dynamic duo that makes playing bad games worth it. The Story – your father is missing and you’re investigating what happened. During the course of the investigation things get weird and lots of sex happens. (It’s an adult visual novel, pretty sure we already knew sex was going to happen) That pretty much sums up the game, I think it took me longer to write my synopsis of the story then to actually play the game. My play time was like 18 minutes to 100% the game. That included two and a half playthroughs of the game, and half hearting most of the dialog. As it really wasn’t that interesting to be quite frank (even though my name is Orge) Gameplay – your normal visual novel fair, click mouse, progress story, make a few meaningless choices, watch lewd scenes, feign ignorance when your wife comes in the room and see’s what you’re playing. Tell her you love her, cuddle with her, watch movies to make her happy. Finally get back to playing the game and questioning your life choices. Aside from a few choices the game also lets you play a little minigame to show you’re paying attention by compiling what you’ve discovered that day. (I don’t know I barely paid attention) 2 out of 10 on the fap o meter Recommendation It's hard to recommend the game, it’s 9.99 full price for 18 minutes worth of content. I’ve certainly spent 10 dollars on far worse things before, but it’s certainly hard to justify that price tag. I’d say wait for a sale because of the easy achievements and game count (I know bros, we gotta get that E-peen engorged) but with Steamdb reporting 5.99 is the cheapest it’s ever been this might just be a game that you can happily skip. Unless something major happens and it sees a sale in the 2.99 range, I’d just pass this one by.

Game is honestly trash. It's so incomplete it feels criminal that this is selling as a full release. The story is so half baked and makes no sense, neither does the clue mini game. The entire playthrough felt like it was an AI generated nightmare. The adult animation scenes aren't even that good to justify any of it either. Hard pass and do not recommend!

DO NOT BUY! This is terribly designed as are all of this developers games. The good: The models look good.. that's it. that is the end of the good. The bad: You can not scroll back. If you accidentally click the wrong choice I hope you saved right before because you can not go back otherwise. This is a terrible choice for a VN. Making things not fun for the player is never a good choice when designing a game. The sex scenes feel mechanical. Click, click, click, click, get a new pose with a couple camera angles. Click, click, click, click...... another pose... for every sex scene. It does not make you feel like you are interacting. It feels mechanical and takes all of the appeal out of the scene. Many of the few angles you get do not even show what you want to see. Several are a slightly different angle of the girls face and not the actual intercourse that is what you play a game like this for. You only need one angle of the same facial expression. The interactions with the LI's are not sexy or appealing. Most of the women are either ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or complete sluts. Don't get me wrong, I love a good slut in a adult novel, but when the only choices are either ♥♥♥♥♥ or slut.. sigh.....

Garbage.. Finish a playthrough in 15mins. Check the achievements and try the 2nd path to get most of the remaining ones. No idea where all the positive reviews come from (well, I can guess..), but anyway. Unity game, no scrolling back, plastic animations, story makes no sense and has no meaningful endings. It is completely stupid with few stupid choices that make no sense. The sister achievement has a strange name that is not in the game. Its a real money grab. Few minigames, which could be nice if made into a real detective work. But in practice you have to click certain marked objects on the screen and thus you get "clues". At the end of the day you combine these "clues" using some random thoughts about what they might represent and why you might combine them. Get a stamp of approval if the dev wanted you to combine the selection you made, which makes no difference. You get to bang the girls, who have decent models, but as said the action is just awkward and plastic. It is also straight out of the blue you meet them and suddenly you are just banging everyone. Yeah, I know that's a big part of why we are here but some sense wouldn't hurt. Else might as well just go to the hub or whatever.. I hope I at least bought this on a huge discount, because it was too long ago to refund. Must have been fooled by the reviews.. If you get it for a euro or two just to amuse yourself on a very boring day for 30 mins, perhaps...

It's an erotic game, but it has elements of an adventure game, so it's interesting. On the contrary, the erotic parts feel like a nuisance. By the way, the woman on the title screen does not appear.

Utter garbage.

Tried playing it and the game was all glitchy and wouldn't let me continue after only 28 minutes. Asked for and got refund. Maybe I'll buy it again if they finally fix it but it should not have even been released in the shape it was in. That may tell you something about the gaming company, I don't know... As bad as the game was to play for me, I can't figure out how it got so many positive reviews, unless they are all from the game company itself. Humm...???
