Murder on the Marine Express is a kinetic novel (linear, no choices) and the first installment of The Mysteries of Ranko Togawa series.
The St. Joachim Academy for elite girls booked the maiden voyage of the new Marine Express submarine train, which runs along the ocean floor from California all the way to the Japanese coast. The journey seems like the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful underwater scenery, learn about marine biology and, ultimately, relax from regular school life. However, the idyllic travel turns into a nightmare when one of the teachers is found dead in his room. Who could have killed the most popular and beloved professor in the academy?
Ranko Togawa, accompanied by her friend Astrid, takes it upon herself to investigate the events and clear the name of the main suspect. Of course, it won't be that simple. As the number of victims grows, the possibility of facing a serial killer becomes more real and panic slowly sets in. Ranko will have to make the most of the time left to find out the truth and prevent the mysterious murderer from killing again, although not all the answers will be to her liking.

ゲームやアニメ好みのコミカルな会話が多いけどお話自体はやや重めのミステリ。 自分はあれ？ この人ここにいるならこれが出来るよね？ と気になってはいたから ある程度までは真相に近づけたけど[spoiler] 最初の殺人のブレザーの少女となくなったもの、二番目の凶器が何故違うのか[/spoiler]などいくつかはっきりしないところがあってそこで詰み。 犯人は[spoiler] それまでの会話にもにおわされていた近くの盲点的存在 [/spoiler]だったので驚きもあり、面白く読んだ。 「行動には結果が伴う」 物語の主題として何度も出てくるこのフレーズを、複雑に絡んだ人間模様を解きほぐし、登場人物と読者の心に残るような影を落としこんでいく作者の腕前に感心しました。 次回作も買います :D
[h1] Buen acercamiento al género de visual novel [/h1] Considero que Murder on the Marine Express puede ser una buena toma de contacto para gente profana del género visual novel: duración acotada -menos de 4 horas-, precio muy bajo -me contó 90 céntimos-, historia estándar de asesinato en un espacio cerrado pero bien resuelta, que te despierta la curiosidad, acompañada de un pixel art que cumple su función. Es importante señalar que en este título [b] la interactividad es nula [/b] ya que lo único que puedes hacer en él es darle a un botón para pasar a la siguiente conversación: no hay ninguna manera de influir en la historia y la resolución de ésta. He visto en la página de los desarrolladores que tienen otro título en el cuál sí se puede influir en la investigación por lo que además de una puerta de entrada al género, Murder on the Marine Express funciona como una presentación del mundo y personajes. En definitiva, si tienes claro a qué vienes con este título te ahorrarás las decepciones que pueden dar lugar a una mala opinión del mismo y disfrutarás de una historia interesante, tampoco muy original, a acompañar algún que otro café que te tomes.

Definitely work the 5 dollars! Would recommend to anyone who likes murder mystery and pixel art. Can't wait to see more from the developer and the series. :)
이거 추리 게임 아님 단적으로 텍스트의 90%는 없어도 전개에 아무 영향이 없고 무의미한 티키타카입니다 아랍권 출신의 히잡을 쓴 이슬람 여학생이 쿠노이치를 존경한다는 텍스트를 추리 게임에서 보고싶으신 분들이라면 구매하셔도 좋습니다. 추리는 적당히 우연으로 넘기고 막판에 몰아서 휘몰아친 다음에 사회적으로 정의로운 메시지를 던져서 마무리하는 전형적인 서양식 인디게임 스토리를 보여줍니다.

【総評】 けっこう苦痛（※現時点未クリア）だが、値段を考えれば… 【詳細】※ネタバレ注意 他の方も書いている通り、選択肢はなく、日本語訳がしっかりしていてよみやすい。 ただ、いろいろツッコミどころがあり、それらを気にせずにいられる人じゃないときついと思う。 例えば… ・主人公が探偵みたいなことをしているが、ごっことしか思えない。 某〇ナンくんのように、探偵としての実績がすごいとかの描写が今のところ全くなく、正義感に駆られた一般的な学生がその場の思い付きで聞き込みや現場調査をしているようにしか見えない。 間に挟まれるギャグパートも相まって、ただのイタイ学生の探偵ごっことしか思えない。 ・血を流して倒れている人間を見て、死んでいると一目で断定する。 現場で倒れている人間を見て、脈も測らず「現場を保存だ！」と言う。 ・凶器を一目見ただけで傷跡と一致していることを断定する。 現場で死体を詳細に調査していたわけでもないのに、あとから見つかる凶器を一目見て「死体の傷と一致している」と言う。 LI〇Eみたいなグループチャットとかちゃんと作ってあるなあという印象ではあるが、上記のことで全体的に茶番としか思えなくなった。 しかしなぜか教師や同級生、列車の乗務員はこの学生探偵になんか信頼を寄せてるようで、聞いたことになんでも答えてくれたり、捜査頑張ってね！などと励ましてくる。 んーでも安かったからいっか！
