What can I do with the Player Edition?
You can join games hosted by other players (as long as there are available guest seats) and participate fully in their sessions. However, this edition does not allow you to create your own online multiplayer sessions or design maps.
What is a guest seat?
The Player Edition of Multiverse Designer allows a player to join games created by an owner of any of the Multiverse Designer Game Master Edition DLCs. When a player with the Player Edition joins a game, one of the available Game Master's guest seats will be occupied. If there are no more guest seats available, it will not be possible for the player to join the session. Game Master editions owners can join a game without using a guest seat.
A Practical Example
Suppose Freddie bought the game with 4 guest seats. He starts a network game. John, Paul, George, and Ringo only have the Player Edition; they log in and start playing. Suddenly, John needs to leave, but he calls Mr. Dickinson to join. Mr. Dickinson also has only the Player Edition, but John's guest seat is now available, so Mr. Dickinson can take it for himself. Now, another friend of theirs, Mr. Jagger, tries to join with the Player Edition. Alas, he's denied entry because Freddie is using all four of his guest seats. But Mr. Jagger really wants to join the game, so he goes and buys a Game Master Edition DLC. Now he doesn't count as a guest, so he can immediately join the game.

not worth the price it is right now. badly optmized, small library, unreal slop graphics, not begginer friendly and the building has almost no tools or assists. feels like i could just download unreal engine plus some assets and it would be easier to build the maps there. Try making you building system more sims like and less unreal map making like and this will be a huge progress considering the audience here are normal people playing rpg and not (always) 3d modelers. a tutorial and a more user friendly interface would make miracles here too.
This thing is seriously awesome for any GM. Okay, so auto map-making isn't ready yet, which can make building maps from scratch a bit of a pain. But seriously, it comes packed with a ton of pre-made maps you can use right away. And the assets? Well, the sheer amount of stuff is massive, covering everything from fantasy to modern settings. But the good part is the online play. It offers a ton of cool options and tools. It's not super easy to pick up immediately, but they've got tutorial links right there in the game to help you out. Finally, being able to click one button to make it rain, snow, or start a sandstorm? That seriously levels up the whole adventure experience. 🤔 Needs a Little Polish A couple of things could be better: the interface could be cleaner, and honestly, there are so many customization options that GMs have to watch the tutorials. Good news, though: players can jump right in without needing any extra lessons! It's gonna be interesting to see how this product develops and what the final version looks like.

Not a good start - Tutorial asks you to do things while preventing you to do them as long as you are in the tutorial - Everything is slow on reacting - Tutorial and besically every cascading windows are very cumbersome to pass from one to another, especially since they resize to adapt to text size (It seemed like a good idea but It was not) - Unreal engine make is terribly heavy both to install and run, impairing the PC perfomances - No Quit button - No info/tips in different windows to re-tell you what to do if you forgot - Character adding is clunky - Library is smaller than it looks - Price is far higher than concurrents, and currently not worth the diffence - Steam is offering to buy a pack containing all "DLC" which are just the 3 tier of number of players you can have. If I buy the biggest one, I just won't buy the other. So maybe separate them. Or better, make them linked : if you buy de 4 players, you get a refund when you want to upgrade to the 6 players. And it was my very first minute of use. I can not even tell bugs from just clunky features at this point. On the good side, lightning is looking damn good thanks to Unreal engine. Sincerely hope you'll be able to make the most out of it, but to me you shouldn't have used UE to start with. Anyway, I genuinely wish you good luck and courage.
Having been along for the ride so far, I can say that this is the VTT that I was looking for 5 years ago when I got back into gaming. I've been using it from their Kickstarter start for months. The look and flexibility of the assets, maps etc are wonderful, HOWEVER, the thing that will make this a leap ahead of most other VTT's, in my opinion, is Criteria, the program that Paulo has made to implement gaming systems. I tried playing around with other VTT languages, but, honestly, having to learn a new language just to mod, or create a gaming system was daunting. Criteria has been very flexible in implementing the RPG system that I generally play. It's a complex system, but Criteria has made it pretty easy for me to create the rules. Now mostly I need time to complete it.
I liked it. I found it very useful and with many 3D models to assemble a map with various scenarios.
Lots of potential. The future is here!!
Now this is what I call a real VTT! This game is just incredible. The number of possibilities is insane. It's loaded with so many assets, I honestly got lost in all of them. It might seem confusing at first glance, but once you use it a bit, you start to get the hang of it. If you're into RPGs and have been looking for a VTT to play online with your friends, I honestly think this is the ultimate solution!!!
A must have tool for online RPG! I really enjoyed it!
