Increíble juego con buena historia. Nada más que añadir. 👍
Mouthwashing is one of those games where I'm very glad I played it, but the more tedious sections make me hesitate to revisit or replay it. Worth every penny for any fan of atmospheric/psychological horror games, don't get me wrong. The story is well-paced and well-delivered. The visual aesthetic of the game is solid throughout. At its worst, a couple of the game's puzzles/sections feel a bit out of place and break you out of the frankly excellent sense of immersion the rest of the game can put you into if you let it. The length and momentum are fantastic for streaming, if that's your thing. Might have benefited from voice acting, but there are some sections where I feel the lack of voice acting benefits it.
Nothing could justify just how beautiful and horrific this game was to play. The false sense of order in the story is this: Responsibility. Everyone has responsibilities. Every human development in history was caused not by obligation of higher order, but with our responsibility to maintain proof we existed. We eat, we drink, we laugh and we choose what makes us feel alive. The evidence this game is trying to portray isn't on the matter telling the truth, but a boiling pot of never making sense with yourself. When we look at the bible, the book never depicted what Eve felt when she had eaten the forbidden fruit. Had she felt disgusted? Morally wronged? Rather, did it even matter how she had felt due to the outcome? The game explains the reason why things matter and things don't, and it is the simple fact of responsibility. How boring would Genesis be if Eve admitted to God she had eaten it? Would people really believe the bible without some sort of conflict sprouting out of it? Would God have forgiven her if she did take responsibility? At some point in our lives, we will forget to regret, and start to gratify that false sense of security. It's easier to overestimate yourself, rather than to realistically experience the present. In Mouthwashing, we see that very clearly, how tragedy is caused by that human error of wanting to know everything the world can offer, but never to learn what we already have riddled inside our mind. If you wish to experience helplessness while hoping to learn different perspectives of what life fulfillment really means, then I recommend Mouthwashing.
This was a tough one to sit through. It is very depressing, very psychological in its horror. I hated the back and forth story telling of past and future events. I don't mind it being used for flashbacks in story telling but this game its every single scene your going back and forth between past and future/present. Not a fan of that. The story is super grim and depressing so be prepared for that I suppose. Otherwise the game has some good retro style art and this game defiantly nails its atmosphere. I give this a middle of the road recommendation if i could, id say a yes for recommendation as it is good for what it is, i just didn't care for the storytelling personally.
One of the coolest story driven games I've ever played.
