Morph King is exactly what it seems to be, and I mean that in the best possible way. A stylised, easy to understand but hard to master twist on Chess. Don't let the cute animations and sounds trick you though - there is plenty of depth here, and it hooked me surprisingly fast. You control only one chess piece, but it changes type each turn (Rook, then pawn, then queen and so on). Thus, the game provides a simple premise, but it get complicated fast as you have to calculate many enemy movements, your upcoming chess piece types and of course the normal movement and board tactics. There are two modes: Endless and Bullet. The former is a classic arcade style high score chaser, while the latter challenges your fast thinking skills to see what you can score in a minute. And given the type of game here, a tactical turn-based board game, these modes are very different experiences. If you like chess, but want something fresh and a change of pace from the classic game, this is your game. A great value, smooth and addictive experience, and I'm curious to see the highscores some may manage. But the above really is the whole game... So, if you're not a board game fan, this naturally won't appeal. Personally, I find I have little time for Chess, so this is a much better option.

There's a timed mode that keeps you on your toes a lot, makes you think. I wish it had more timings, but 1 minute was pretty good to play in for a while. For the price, it's great!
It's a fun game to play for a bit, the soundtrack was really nice.
Very creative concept, I love it! The "morph" mechanic really forces you to think strategically but unique to the classic chess game. This game is really fun, and has just the right amount of challenge.
Chess but if you morphed
Es un survival de Ajedrez, tiene un modo infinito así como uno de hacer puntos en 60 segundos, esta a buen precio.
Learned how to play chess def would try to keep playing I just need to get a new mouse cause I broke it while playing this game. Fire tho
I haven't logged a ton of hours yet, but I find myself coming back and playing a few rounds of bullet mode whenever I'm looking to kill some time and don't want to commit to a longer game. Quickly taking pieces is satisfying, and taking multiple pieces in a row by making clever use of your morphs is even more so. The depth that comes out of the modified chess rule set really takes you by surprise (in a good way, if that wasn't clear). This game feels like a really nice addition to my Steam library.
Really great game about chess, can be really chill and really stressful with the two differents modes ! I quite like the animations and all the sounds in the game, but in bullet mode, having animations that doesn't stops the time is really something frustrating, but that's what makes the difference between a no-loss run and a more chaotic one ! Very good game, solid gameplay that is easy to get your hands on !
Disclaimer: My rating on this game as of the time posting this is *mixed*. A very entertaining concept, but unfortunately the novelty wears off quite fast due to the lack of different modes. I initially thought the difficulties would add on new quirks and allow enemies to make longer moves, but it's literally just more enemy spawns. Additionally, most of the achievements (except for Quick Thinking, which was more reliant on resetting games until you got the magic run) were quite easy and left a lot more to be desired. It only took me 2 hours to complete everything, but I felt like I was playing something worth more around $1 of content. I think it's worth checking out and giving it a shot, but for those really looking for something challenging and engaging, you won't find much here.
