This is one is cute and neat. It reminds me of one of those pattern recognition and reaction speed brain games I used to play back on my Nintendo DS. I must admit though I was restarting a level for awhile.
Before I played MopGarden's Veggie Cart, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
"MopGarden's Veggie Cart" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam. This mobile app is a "burger cart" game where you need to do some quick time reactions to various triggers... an entity will pop up, if it's a bunny it will show you what it needs to eat, if it's a pest or whatever flick it away by swiping on your iPhone screen. What's that you say? This is PC and you don't have an iPhone? But we're here on Steam for iPhone games aren't we? Steam is for iPhone games! No? Okay then. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
I'm a VA coach with Deep Spore Studios and I pick random games I find on Steam to play with my students and get a little voice acting practice in. We've been grinding at it for a while and after 2.6 hours of coming back to Mopgarden's Veggie Cart we beat the last level! It was an absolute fever dream and I am truly speechless. This game might be the best thing that's ever happened to me and I don't know how to carry on with my life.
