About
Missing Texture is a psychological horror narrative experience structured into chapters, all accessible from a central Launcher.
The Launcher acts as the core of the Missing Texture universe, allowing you to access every main chapter while keeping your progress unified.
But there is something more.
The story is not told only through the main chapters.
It fragments.
It hides.
It rebuilds itself.
The saga is divided into:
Up to 4 planned chapters.
The central story of abduction and distorted reality.
Direct continuation between episodes.
Narrative expansions.
Alternative stories.
Perspectives from other characters.
Events that connect to the main storyline.
They are not required to understand the story…
but they change how you interpret it.
You are inside what appears to be a normal house.
But something is wrong.
Hallways that don’t align.
Rooms that change.
Doors that appear where nothing stood before.
Textures that disappear.
And someone who lives there.
Full interaction with key objects.
Detailed inspection system.
Dynamic lockpicking minigame.
Limited tools.
Failure with consequences.
Real-time visual glitches.
Subtle structural changes within the house.
Events that do not always repeat in every playthrough.
Active patrol system.
Reacts to sound.

Interactive escape moments.
Door-blocking mechanics.
Quick decisions that affect the outcome.
Ambiguous notes.
Elements that contradict what you believe.

Reviews
i dont even know where to start. it would take a dissertation to express everything i think and feel when i play this and spiral downwards on the state of game development, game design, and even digital art as a whole today. whether or not this is created by human hands is irrelevant as a human is the one who submitted it. the game is so misguided, so fractured, so disjointed and the dev so lacking in any self-awareness or understanding of what a game is or why we play them, that I think even though free you should really do something else, anything else, with your time and attention.

Missing Texture: Part 1 is a puzzle-focused game with light horror elements that shows some interesting ideas but struggles with execution. The strongest aspect of the game is its puzzles. There’s clearly a lot of effort put into creating multiple challenges, and if you enjoy spending time working through puzzle-heavy gameplay, there’s definitely something here for you. The game also includes a few jump scares, which are placed well enough to catch you off guard at first. However, the experience is held back by several issues. The most noticeable problem is the visual quality and performance. There are frequent rendering issues—shadows glitching, environments disappearing, and parts of the map not loading properly. It’s unclear whether these issues are intentional and part of the game’s design, but if they are, they come across as distracting rather than immersive and pull you out of the experience. The jump scares, while decently timed, aren’t visually appealing. Instead of adding to the horror atmosphere, they feel out of place and don’t match the environment, which takes away from their impact. The level design is another weak point. Much of the game takes place in long, plain hallways filled with puzzles, requiring a lot of backtracking. This makes progression feel repetitive rather than rewarding. A more varied or interconnected layout would have made the experience feel more engaging and natural. Overall, Missing Texture: Part 1 feels like a game that prioritized puzzle quantity over overall design and polish. While the puzzles themselves may appeal to a specific audience, the lack of visual refinement, flow, and clarity in design choices makes it harder to stay invested. Final Verdict: Decent puzzle ideas, but weighed down by technical issues, repetitive design, and lack of polish. ⭐ Rating: 4/10 Check out my review on you tube https://youtu.be/5SOsZ4Ez2Bc
