Score: 5/10

Art: Charismatic and appealing at first, but extremely repetitive across levels. Visual variety is limited, which makes the experience feel dull sooner than it should.
Music: Adequate. The Christmas-like vibe fits the game’s tone, but there is only one main track, and it quickly becomes repetitive.
Story: A parody of Home Alone mixed with dungeon themes and the minotaur from the main game. That said, there is no real story to speak of—it’s more a thematic excuse than a narrative.
Gameplay: An interesting mix of Dungeon Keeper-style ideas with a stronger focus on puzzles, combined with a roguelite loop. The roguelite aspect feels unnecessary. You can’t restart levels if you bought the wrong type of weapon, and dying sends you back to level one while keeping purchased upgrades. While initially fun, the near-identical structure of levels (despite different enemy groups and layouts) and mostly uninteresting upgrades—aside from weapons—cause the game to lose its appeal after a while. The between-level hub, where you buy upgrades and choose the next stage, being fully 3D feels pointless; a menu-based approach would have been faster and more dynamic.
Accessibility: Controller support is included, along with several colorblind modes and other options. However, there is no option to increase font size.
Overall Experience: An entertaining concept with some solid ideas, but weighed down by repetition and questionable design decisions. The unnecessary roguelite structure and lack of variety prevent it from being more engaging in the long run. It’s fine in short sessions, but it struggles to justify extended playtime. The main game, which has not been released yet, already looks significantly more promising than this spinoff/demo, with the expectation of more varied level types, more interesting upgrade paths, and overall stronger design decisions, making this entry feel comparatively shallow and limited.

Stuck on the first and only maps, like I been isolation alone in a house.
This is a fun, festive demo which appears to give one a little taste of the upcoming game. The Roguelite elements mean that - after several unsuccessful runs - you'll soon add abilities that allow you to be more creative and have more options with the placement of your traps, plus the range at your disposal. The stock MINOS Demo may have some clearer progression between levels (though sometimes you have access to the map in this demo too) but found myself warming to this as the mechanics became clearer and it provides a self-contained challenge over the holidays. I have found after several hours - despite some variation in the house layouts - I have fallen into a standard approach to building the labyrinth and I worry this may start to become repetitive even if the choice of weapons and enemies maintains the challenge.
repetitive "maps" traps are boring and you basically go for the same thing over and over again, once you play a few levels you've seen about everything the game has to offer

Love the idea! A little comeback to my childhood - Christmas and Home Alone :) Can't wait to play Minos! :)
