At first glance "Mini Kart Racing" looks like a straight asset flip of Minicar Race Creator by Target Studio but that's not all there is to it. For one, the "developer" here actually seems to have made their own tracks - a whopping three - using yet another asset pack, Toon Racing by SICS Games. This is a plus as the original asset's graphics aren't exactly great. However, for whatever reason, they also used just four of the 30+ available vehicles. Then they slapped on a rather crude user interface - using another asset pack - and for some reason removed the Championship mode of the original asset, maybe because they were too lazy to reskin the user interface for it. The "game" itself is just as bare bones as the original asset pack it's based on. You race multiple laps around short tracks against more or less inept AI drivers, that's it. Handling of the cars is okay but they tend to suddenly stand on the rear tires for no good reason, making it more or less impossible to keep driving. As there's also no way to recover this usually ends the race even if you were driving normally. Amusingly this also happens to the AI cars. Despite the reliance on asset packs this could have been something if the "developer" here wasn't as greedy and inept as they are. But instead of developing the assets further they simply mashed something together and put it on Steam for money and of course sold the keys to DailyIndieGame for cents on the dollar. Don't support the scheme of this morally void "developer" and don't buy this or any of their "games".
Warning: Asset Flip!
Mini Kart Racing is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", IronyDev/Shooty (he uses a couple of accounts to try to mislead gamers), took the Minicar Race Creator Unity Store tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, Target Studio, changed the name, skinned it with some cars stolen from another asset pack, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. It gets worse... "Minicar Race Creator" has also been shamelessly dumped on Steam by other asset flippers apart from IronyDev:

"MiniTracks", asset flipped by MageC Studio
"Barro Racing", asset flipped by SC Jogos
"Racing Juke", asset flipped by Rabotiagi games
"Barro", asset flipped by SC Jogos
"Barro F", asset flipped by SC Jogos
"Barro 22", asset flipped by SC Jogos
"Minicar Race", asset flipped by Beyond Games
"Night Racer", asset flipped by Smash Game Studios
"Barro 2020", asset flipped by SC Jogos
Take a look for yourself... these are all exactly the same game! IronyDev has a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work. One example of IronyDev/Shooty doing this is Shooty, which is really the "Super Multiplayer Shooter Template" asset, written by the actual developers, Visyde Interactives. The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Minicar Race Creator" is just a simple low poly toy car racing arcade game, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Another important Note: IronyDev have been caught using fake reviews on their games in an attempt to mislead gamers by creating a fake positive review score. The reviews are all from known/compromised pay-per-review accounts, all in Russian or broken English, and show as Steam purchasers (to make the fake reviews count). The fake reviews are all posted within roughly 24 hours of each other, and usually shortly after the game launch. There's no evidence of fake reviews on this game, but that may change in future. Gamers have a right to know when developers act in a highly unethical manner. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from IronyDev.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Some bugs here and there, but a nice game. Old school. would like to see that the AI reset themselfs if the are stuck. a car reset button would be nice. and a settingsmenu would be nice as well.
The reasoning behind myself rating this video-game a NO, is simply because it is practically unfinished. I have no big complaints, I actually enjoy a game which is so impractical, although despite it being only a Dollar there are a few issues and feedback which I would like to suggest. Firstly, on certain maps in particular the derby/monster truck one, on certain jumps your car will completely glitch. The F1 Race car gets stuck in the map, whereas the other ones more so get a wheel glitched. Secondly, It would be nice to have the option to disable car collision. Starting a race begins off with you knocking into others, or others knocking into you. In most car games the collision is off for this exact reason. Thirdly, It would be nice to have more maps + cars. Having this avaliability to the players would greatly improvise for the lack of content. I understand that this is not really a FULL GAME, or a project at all. Just something fun to make, so this isn't huge. Fourthly, add a menu. Add more customization, etc. This would make the game have more of an atmosphere, ALSO add steam achievements. I believe people who do purchase the game would enjoy it more if there was something to grind towards too. Lastly, the main reason I would not pay a dollar for this game AGAIN and/or suggest purchasing it in the current state is simply because it would most likely sit in 99.9% of players library. Installed or Uninstalled. It was only a dollar so I had no issue, although I would like to see this game get updated.
I forgot I paid money for this. Honestly the game itself isn't that bad, the controls are responsive and the visuals are nice, but it's a bit buggy. There should be a respawn button because sometimes you get flipped over and then you can only restart after. You also sometimes clip into the floor after landing from a jump. Also, there is only 4 tracks in this game. It'd be a solid experience if there was more content and a respawn button. But for now, just buy garfield kart.
Great game, just needs less sensitive turning capabilities, and more maps. Awesome. Well worth the cost. Also needs a reset car button
buggy and veeery barebones. i wouldn't recommend this game
even for this much, it's a waste of money
