I purchased this game when it first came out, but quickly refunded it. It's a great concept but very poorly executed. I'm sorry that the dev has to hear this as I'm sure they sacrificed a lot of time to make this, but at the end of the day, it just is not a good game. Buggy, horrible controls, weird sound problems, etc. I've been lurking on the sidelines here waiting for an update to fix the major issues but nothing. So I am now posting my review. Just don't bother with this, it looks like the dev isn't either. :(
The fifth element taxi simulator
This is a very cool idea and a lot of fun to play. It's challenging and the graphics are good. The controls need work. KEEP DEVELOPING!!!
A great take on the classic Crazy Taxi formula with just a few minor gripes, but well worth experiencing if you're a fan of the Sega classic.
Don't get fooled and just go play Crazy Taxi on any console... Controls - weird, I mean they are working and all, but just weird to push break and the car strafes and stops like any regular non-flying car, lol. Graphics for modern game is...unforgivable? - Unity can give you beautiful picture, all we get is tons of post-processing effects layered on the mediocre models, not much customization in settings, weird character select screen, character models don't move their mouths...this is not 2000s anymore :) As I said before - This is not even close to Crazy Taxi. Just go and play it instead of this game (at least at this state of the game)
🚕 MiLE HiGH TAXi Review 🌆🚔 MiLE HiGH TAXi was a huge surprise to me. First of all because it’s an extremely specific game based on an extremely specific movie: The Fifth Element. And that alone gives the game a really unique identity. The whole game is inspired by that futuristic 90s aesthetic, full of flying cars, police chases, and that fun way people in the 90s imagined the future. And honestly? The visuals capture that vibe extremely well. The graphics and atmosphere are beautiful, especially if you enjoy that old-school sci-fi aesthetic. The game starts out very colorful with every visual effect turned on — blur, post-processing, anti-aliasing, and everything else — but honestly, I highly recommend turning all of that off. Doing that makes the game look more muted and almost identical to the colors of the movie it was inspired by, which makes the experience much cooler overall. The gameplay is simple and straightforward. There are a few different modes, like racing against other flying taxis, but nothing too exciting since there are very few routes and they quickly become repetitive. The main mode is basically a futuristic Crazy Taxi: pick up passengers and drop them off around the city while trying to make money. And that brings me to the thing that defined my experience the most: this game is perfect to play without paying full attention to it. It’s the kind of game you leave running while listening to a podcast, watching videos, or just relaxing while doing something automatic. I actually enjoyed farming money and trying to unlock the achievements, which are surprisingly difficult and require several hours of nonstop gameplay. But the game also has plenty of problems. Dialogues constantly overlap, sometimes multiple NPCs talk at the same time, and it becomes a complete mess. Easy mode basically only changes the taxi speed and gives you more time to deliver passengers, so honestly I don’t even recommend playing on easy. And even worse: there’s no hard mode at all. YOU END UP MAKING LIKE 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS AND THERE ARE NO NEW CARS TO BUY OR ANY TAXI UPGRADES TO GET, AND I REALLY FELT THE GAME WAS MISSING THAT. The taxi mechanics are also a little confusing at first. You can learn how to control it in a few minutes, but there are several buttons and maneuvers that honestly feel useless and I practically never use them. Some mechanics feel like they shouldn’t even exist. What the game really needs is a PURSUIT mode directly inspired by the movie. A police chase and escape mode would easily be the most fun part of the entire game. The problem is that the map gives you a false sense of freedom. It looks infinite, but it’s actually very short and limited. You can’t fly too high or too low, so you’re always stuck in this middle layer where it feels like you’re extremely high above the city while still having buildings above you — and at the same time it feels low, even though you can’t actually see the ground. ⭐ Score: 7/10. MiLE HiGH TAXi is a very niche and repetitive game with several problems, but it’s still really fun for what it tries to be. It’s definitely not worth the full price they ask for, but on sale I absolutely recommend it. It’s the perfect type of game to turn your brain off, play casually, and just enjoy the futuristic vibe inspired by The Fifth Element. A jogabilidade é simples e direta. VOCÊ GANHA TIPO 10 MIL DÓLARES E NÃO TEM NENHUM CARRO PRA COMPRAR OU NENHUM UPGRADE DE TAXi PRA FAZER, SENTI FALTA DISSO A mecânica do táxi também é meio confusa no começo. 🚕💨
Great game! Certainly a step in the right direction to a game I've wanted to play for year's which involves free roaming in flying cars. Only criticism is that the map is somewhat monotonous but I can understand it being early day's. If the game is to expand or get a sequel, i'd possibly suggest a bit more variety in the district's, possibly using the game "New York Race" which was inspired by "The Fifth Element" as a way to get inspired by the different districts. Overall, it's a great game, does feel fun and satisfying to transport passenger's to different level's, would just need a little more environmental variety.
