Nemesis System is still unique even 12 years after

Like the combat

Shadow of Mordor is Arkham set in the LOTR Universe. Combat is, well, Arkham-y, follows the exact same principles. Stealth is great, climbing around is fun, exploring is fun, but...there's gripes. Even in my short time, I feel like the game overstayed its welcome. Combat and missions get repetitive VERY quickly. "Walk over here and kill this guy", "interact with these POI's", "Infiltrate this area, but don't get caught!". They're very cookie-cutter. The world itself is also very underwhelming, it's just a small open area with enemy encampments to break up the plains. I think it's a good game, with fun but not very unique mechanics, that spends a bit longer sitting around than it should. Also, the Nemesis system is really just a gimmick that has very little play, mostly because the world isn't large enough to let somebody actually rise to power and become intimidating.
