It brings Naked Snake’s Cold War survival mission into the modern era with striking visuals, smoother controls, and a jungle that feels more dangerous than ever—without sanding away the wonderfully strange personality that made the original so beloved. The core of *Snake Eater* still holds up brilliantly. Stalking through dense forests, camouflaging against the terrain, treating wounds in the field, and quietly picking off guards remains tense and deeply satisfying. The new over-the-shoulder perspective makes infiltration more immediate, while the option to use the classic presentation is a thoughtful nod to long time fans. What makes the game special, though, is its confidence to be earnest and absurd in equal measure. It is a spy thriller full of betrayal, nuclear anxiety, and genuine emotion, but also features cardboard-box logic, melodramatic villains, and conversations that can pivot from geopolitics to wildlife trivia without warning. Rather than feeling dated, that tonal mix gives the game a personality few modern blockbusters can match. The remake’s greatest strength is also its limitation: it is extremely faithful. Much of the original’s pacing, structure, and occasional clunkiness remains intact. Some players will appreciate that preservation; others may find parts of the interface and boss design a little old-fashioned beneath the glossy new presentation. Still, this game proves that the original’s brilliance was never just nostalgia. This is a gripping stealth game, a memorable survival adventure, and one of the most distinctive stories in the medium. Whether you are returning to the mission or meeting Naked Snake for the first time, the jungle is well worth entering.

Amazing game, 9/10. THEY TOOK ONE OF THE STEPS OF THE STAIRCASE, NOW IT HAS 308 STEPS INSTSEAD OF 309. BLASPHEMY

リメイクされたMGS3。 概ねリメイク前そのまま。ただし、新しい操作方法はMGSTPPに近い操作となり、本作では癖が強い。 （また某所のコナミコマンドなどの裏技は使用不可。クラシック操作だと受け付ける） ケロタンとガーコ探しの難易度が高い、特にガーコは偽装しているので困ったら遠慮なく攻略サイトやコスチュームを使って探そう。 グラフィックはリメイクによって、敵のデザインや兵装・武器などが細部まで描画されて美しい。 また、地形に関する描写も強化された。草藪を走れば下草が足にまとわりつく。地面を匍匐すれば土の後が服に残るなど。 ただまあ、賛否が分かれる点として良くも悪くもMGS3オリジナルを踏襲しているように感じられた。 システムやマップデザイン、ギミックもほぼ変化はない。新しいのはグラフィックだけと言い切れてしまう。 リメイクではなく、どちらかというとリマスターといっていいかもしれない。 ただまあ、変に改変されすぎても……、というのが悩ましいところである。ある意味では小島監督が素晴らしすぎたがための呪いといえる。 シークレットシアターと猿蛇合戦が遊べるのはとにかく嬉しかったが。 まあ、オリジナルを遊んだきり、というのであればオススメ。初めて遊ぶのであれば２０年以上前のゲームだったために古臭く感じるところもある、ということを念頭においておいたほうがいいだろう。 ちなみにおまけのFOXHUNT。既に人が全くいないのでマッチしない。実績に関係ないのが救いか。
