[b]Merits:[/b] ▪ An epic spy tale wrapped in an alternate historical setting that makes it more believable ▪ Graphically very impressive and a massive upgrade over the original ▪ Cutscenes are directed as if it was a movie, very cinematic ▪ Fantastic voice acting cast and performances [b]Flaws:[/b] ▪ Un-optimised by default, requires tweaking engine.ini settings to get the best results ▪ Sound levels are not normalised during cutscenes, making the historical scenes having lower volume ▪ The original theme score has been re-recorded and changed for the worse in my opinion ▪ Extra skins behind paywall [b]Verdict:[/b] Wow, even after so many years, this story still hits hard. This is the beginning of the epic Metal Gear saga, setting up threads for later titles. What a masterpiece. Gameplay is the usual, with an added option for more modernised controls. First person works well and adds another layer. The graphics are impressive, but resource heavy, requiring frame generation for smooth frames, as well as changing settings outside of the game (otherwise the performance is horrible).
