METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE

MGR:R is genuinely the epitome of what a "traditional" video game can and should be. The political commentary, general atmosphere, characters, writing, plot, narrative, gameplay mechanics, level design, music, and the QoL features added to this PC version mean that there are very few games that could even hope to hold a candle to something like this. The codec alone likely has more dialogue (good/interesting conversations too) than a lot of other games period, and it's fully voice acted on top of that. The VR missions, the character customization, the free DLC missions where you can play as Sam and Blade Wolf. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ peak. "... and besides... this isn't my sword." The cheesiness, stupidity, and yet sheer aura of this one line when said in context - this is the heart of MGR. Play it if you like "traditional" video games made with real artistry. 9.5/10
