First of all, a thank you to the developer who made the game available as part of the Curators Connect program. There was never any obligation on the part of the developer to play the game or to write a review about it. This review was written voluntarily and without any involvement of the developer.

[th]MY RATING:[/th] [th] ✔ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ [/th] [th]1 / 10[/th]

Normally I have a really hard time giving a bad rating to a game that I didn't pay anything for. And in this case, I'm somehow even more sorry since it's the developer's very first game. But, as much as I'm sorry, no, I can't recommend the game under any circumstances. Not only for the following reasons but also because of the price, which in my opinion is significantly too high. I may be the first to write a bad review for the game, but I can well imagine that there will be one or two buyers who, after purchasing it, will see it as a “rip-off” for what it offers. When I received the game, I looked at it briefly on an office notebook and I thought, OK, it looks pretty nice, even though it took forever to load the game and I wasn't able to use the game because of performance issues kept getting stuck and jerking. I didn't think anything of it and blamed it more or less on the notebook, even though it's not a bad one and other games work on it without any problems. Today, on my main gaming computer, with which I can play any AAA game in the best graphics quality in 4k without any problems, things were similar with loading and area changes. After starting the game, I was afraid that my graphics card was broken because the picture was so crooked and it seemed like there were color errors. I didn't take a screenshot because, if I'm honest, I didn't want to post a screenshot like that. You can see what I mean in the following screenshot and if you look closely, then you might know or understand what I mean. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074144904 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074145072 It may be that this is intentional, but I find it really terrible and incredibly tiring to look at such pictures all the time and I can't do anything with it. I've made the effort to actually watch and play through the entire game from start to finish but I can't find anything where I can say, well done. The pictures remind me a little of a toddler who can't paint yet. Sure, it can be a style that can be quite interesting, but then something is missing in the implementation and these disturbing color errors or whatever you want to call them shouldn't be there in my opinion. And I think, as someone else also wrote, the cats are kind of ugly. Well, they are cats that were turned into stones and you have to turn them back with a click, but after that a pretty, cute or whatever cat would have been nicer and not a cat stone. Sure, it somehow fits with the overall picture, but still... Some of the puzzles contained in the game are not that easy and you don't always immediately understand what you are supposed to do. Since I wasn't very happy with the game anyway, I looked for a guide, which luckily exists. The guide itself is written by the developer. I find that very commendable and it is also very helpful, but I also wonder whether it is good to offer a complete solution and also with a map to find your way around. If you can't find the solution after x attempts, you'll probably use a guide to help you, but it's kind of difficult because it seems to me like you're trying to prevent people from not finishing the game and possibly getting upset about it excite. A guide with tips without a concrete solution might have been a little better. If you use the guide it is not difficult to unlock the achievements. Otherwise, things could get a little tricky. The menu offers a few settings intended for the comfort of the game and you can choose between windowed and full-screen mode. You can also adjust the sound and effects separately. The background music is actually quite relaxed, but like everything, it's purely a matter of taste. I personally find the effects and the meowing terrible. Unfortunately there are no settings for display or quality. The operation itself works quite well, but the view or movement of the image is a bit strange. Static but somehow shifted by the “camera angle”. I don't know how to explain this exactly. It may be that I'm now spoiled by really good HOG games and their functions. The idea behind it and the basic concept is not bad, even if it is reminiscent of existing and well-known games in many ways. Unfortunately, I don't have enough to be positive about it and I specifically asked a few people around me what they thought of this game. And to put it briefly and simply, the answer was unanimous: nothing. I'm really sorry. You can find a different and definitely positive perspective on this game for example here Review date: November 14, 2023

PLAYED WITH: 🖱

⮩ VISIT ME IN MY LITTLE WORLD

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2528710/Meowing_Point/
🐱 Meowing Point 🐱
is a cute and very relaxing ,,hidden things'' point & click cat adventure in 3D. You can gather 17 archievements at this point, they do not count at the moment on profile, but will when steam validet the game! In this game all cats have turned to stone. You have to find an click on them to safe them. So we go into the Town on our mission to safe the cats! They are slightly visible, so you might think -at the first look- all cats are easy to find, but thats not true. Some of the cats are very well hidden. You have to literaly check everywhere for them. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074144904 There are a few other riddles in this game, to make it complete. The riddles are not easy and in my opinion challenging to do, it was really refreshing! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074145149 One of the best thing is, you can literally pet every cat ingame and the Dev really named EVERY cat in the game. This really adds a personal touch! <3 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074145072 The game is a references to the Devs hometown in Australia and an ode to his own pets, who are great voice-actors for this game! As a first game from this Dev, i am impressed! Its filled with a lot of details and love. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as i did! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074144786 If you like my review, you may also like my curator page! Pet them and you can hear them meow as they come to life in this 3D hidden cat game. These poor kitties have been turned into stone. Can you find them and help save them? Meowing Point by Developer yofrancisco, a solo developer with his first game A short Point and Click exploration game, with hints and references to the developer's hometown in Australia. It has some slight puzzling with extra hidden objects. The developer, yofrancisco states he is working on additional free areas, secrets, and more polishing. If you're stuck, a story & achievement guide made by the developer can be found in the community section. The developer decided to give this a slightly moody color scheme. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3145715343 You move around the world using your mouse, you can zoom in and out, but you can't move the camera. There are no hints but the cats are usually not too difficult to find. Pet these kitties and you will find they have names. Yes, they each have a name! There are also some random side quests too, so be sure to pick up any suspicious objects that might be used later. You can click on suspicious things like garbage cans and windows. Some things might even unlock new areas and doors. You never know what you might find. There are a few riddles in this game and they can be somewhat challenging at times. Sometimes a rock requires a specific pickaxe and not the ones laying near the rock. When you find all of the cats on a location, you get a star and can move on. But since there are no hints, finding that one last cat (or last few) can be challenging and frustrating at times. I did get lost even though I tried following the map. It's probably just me, like usual. Cats are more on the ugly side (sorry) and very clever at hiding sometimes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3145715546 Pros: * 17 Achievements * Music is Great * Displays Music Tract on Screen * Slightly Moody Colored Scenes * Story/Achievement Guide by Dev * No Issues using Windows 11 Cons: * No Hints * No Trading Cards * Profile Features Limited https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3145715449 Rating: 8/10 Final Thoughts: Short, addicting and entertaining game with cats that have been turned to stone. Oh my! Help save our kitties! Price isn't too bad but getting it on sale is even better. Nice entertaining game considering it is the developer's 1st game. Nice addition to add to your library. Another "find cats" game that tries to add a personal touch. You move around by using a mouse. Although you can travel between screens, you are not allowed to freely explore them because of a fixed camera. The only thing you can do is pan the screen by clicking and dragging. It is also possible to zoom in for a closer look, however this does not work around screen borders. The objective is to locate all cats in all locations. Unlike in other similar games, the cats are prominent in this one. The environment does not conceal certain strange shapes that make you wonder if it's a cat at all. They've all been turned to stone, so they're simple to spot. Each cat has a name. Some cats are better at hiding than others. This is why you should click on suspicious things like garbage cans and windows. You never know what you might see. You are also going to encounter tiny components of adventure games, such as picking up items and using them in the appropriate location. There are no hotspots, which is a pain, and you must hop through adventure nonsense. For example, a rock requires a specific pickaxe and not the ones laying near to the rock. When you find all of the cats on a location, you get a star and can move on. But since there are no hints, finding that one last cat is always frustrating. One nitpicking issue is that available exits should be marked more clearly. While it’s true that cursor changes when you point at it and there are traffic cones that mark end of the road, it’s still easy to miss a path or get lost.
💜 This game was gifted to Catizens Curations for review. Short, but entertaining hidden objects game in a 3D world where you need to find cats, complete quests and ... battle an evil tree in the lighthouse? That last part didn't really make sense to me either, so don't worry about it lol. You move around the world with your mouse, you can zoom in and out, but you can't really turn the camera. The camera is mostly fixed angle that sometimes made it difficult to find all the cats. There also was no hint option, which was a little disappointing, but the cats were not all that difficult to find. Every cat has a name and you can pet them! The story is almost non-existent and quite confusing, but honestly I don't really think this game even needed a story to begin with, but it is there, for what it's worth anyhow. I really liked this hidden objects game, and will recommend it. The price of the game isn't really worth it imo, so wait for a sale for this one!
Overpriced and short, get it on the specials. Review Copy provided by dev. An fun and unusual 3D exploration game where you have to find a load of petrified, yes petrified cats, you can pet them, but they are petrified, get it. Okay maybe not. Collect the stone cats, but be on the lookout for hidden cats, poke at things that look like they might have been put there, to unlock areas and doors Collect plastic bottles to recycle, and well to end the game, that would be a spoiler. Nothing too special, just the sudden end. But it's a very short game.
Meowing Point is a cute 3D hidden cat game from solo developer Yofransico. It is the creator’s first project and was originally made for a friend. Players must find and rescue hundreds of hidden cats that have been turned to stone. It is an ambitious but enjoyable game, and very impressive as the developer’s first solo project. The hidden object aspect is well implemented and a lot of fun though more direction or hints would be a nice addition to the other activities rather than just have the player stumble across them. The aesthetic is unique and has a subtle retro feel to it and the visuals suit the style of the game well. The music is very nice, though some tracks fit better than others and there was some repetition. The clunkiness of the controls and navigation is probably the game’s weakest area and does put a bit of a dampener on an otherwise enjoyable experience. Currently, this game needs a bit more polish to justify its price tag. That being said, it is a cute, fun game with a decent amount of potential. On the game’s store page, the developer talks about working on additional areas, secrets, and polishing which is highly promising and certainly means that this is one to keep an eye on and I will tentatively recommend it with that in mind. Looks like no one has reviewed this game recently so here goes: For a first game by a solo dev, I say good job! It's a casual little point and click game where you find hidden cats that have turned to stone. They meow when you click them, and you can click them again to pet them (and it will tell you that cat's name which is cute). The cats can be tricky to find, which I appreciated as it didn't make it feel like I was wasting money by it being "easy". If you complete an area 100% it tells you in the upper left hand corner that you found all the cats, the most cats I've ever found was 634. And that was with me basically finding all cats in all areas except by the lighthouse! There are some neat references to actual places in Australia, which I enjoyed. You're able to change the window size, make it full screen, and adjust audio which I appreciate. There are achievements, which is pretty dope. Oh, and the dev published a guide themselves, can't say I've seen that before! It's not super thorough, but it helps if you get a bit stuck. Yes, there are some things that are a little finicky. I still say it's worth the money. Examples of fiddly bits: when you are about to glide your mouse over the entrance to a new area, the mouse and game lag a bit trying to load the animation of the cat walking/the light lighting up. No biggie. After the initial lag it doesn't seem to happen again. There are only a few songs, so they loop and I guess it could get annoying that they repeat (I still liked the music, it even tells you what song is playing as it changes). Overall, I got plenty of hours of play time in with this game. I'm happy with it, I look forward to seeing if the dev comes out with new content :)
🐈
Cats are evil but this was pretty cute. I think finding all the cats gave me an aneurysm
