I really wish I could recommend this, I think with a proper translation it would be fine. But man it's incomprehensible most of the time. It can't even keep the main character's pronouns straight and it makes things confusing when it flip flops midsentence that you're a "he" then a "she". And it even has that issue with some other characters too which makes it all the more confusing. The art is not the best out there, but it's fine. They updated the game years after release to include the patchless nudity, but it still has mosaics on the one CG with genitals on it. I get it, it's Japanese law so whatever. It just stinks that this issue exists at all. I think that they updated the game after so long is commendable which makes it all the more difficult to not recommend it. Especially given how cheap the game is. The music I liked. I wouldn't say it's outright good, it's just pleasant to listen. Which is pretty important while you stare blankly at the translation. The developer said it wasn't autotranslated, there's no doubt in my mind whoever translated it can't speak proper English. Not that my English is perfect, but to give one snippet. "That that I of there is a house which sleigh returns to. paid in the rent became planeted unpleasantly "not" however because the house was far about me of the person where there is a family settles down out of the palace., the lodgings are a feeling." [strike]"Load" is "Lord" in the menu for some reason[/strike], [they patched a fix for load] some of the options aren't even translated at all [like the save/load confirmation menu]. And often times when you save it will display Japanese instead. When you save it saves a snippet of the line dialog along with it. And I couldn't find a way to back out of the gallery, had to close the game and relaunch it. If you can stomach a terrible translation, I would recommend it. But if you can't, then I can't. And since you can only pick one or the other, I had to not recommend it just because the entire point of a visual novel is to convey a story. And doing 100% of the storyline in this... I barely understood what was happening. And the prince storyline felt like an abrupt ending without a proper conclusion. I enjoyed the other two characters more, in spite of the horrible translation.

Melting Pot lacks considerably in translation. Some parts of the menu are not translated at all, and the story seems written by using a bad autotranslation tool. After trying to keep up with the story but quickly losing interest due to the considerable number of misspellings and crappy syntax, I skipped the rest. The art is done nicely. Nothing special, but standart manga style. The game seems to need a patch to start. It can be found here: http://magichouse.uh-oh.jp/kyapion.html The patch has to be in the game folder (just open your local files via steam and paste it in there). Still, it is far from the worst/expensive VN I ever saw. I will recommend it. Maybe if the translation is revised, it will be an enjoyable game altogether.
The awful translations made for one of the funniest experiences I've had in the last month. Perfect for a late night on a Discord call with friends.
So the story is short and cute. There are three routes, and Ive only played through one, but i really enjoyed it despite the bad translation. It is readable enough that I found myself trying to figure out how to word it better lol. But since Im not 100% sure of the writers meaning with everything that was written, i could not be sure my translation would be any better (other than easier to read ;p) Also the art, while not the best fit the game well. The music was calming instrumentals, a nice touch i think for the mood. Now on to the bad, first of all the Patch Link. My virus scanner didnt like me opening the page it linked to, though i bravely pushed forward and went to the page anyway. There's nothing there but two game patches, and the one for the game was about 200mb in size and was slow to down load. I scanned the downloaded file and it was declared safe. Then i installed it as directed by putting it in the game folder. And of course the game wouldnt play. It does add a preview movie and a button for it to the main menu, but the game itself refuses to start or load a save. SO 1. game maker, Check your patches first! before telling people to use them. Breaking your own game bad for business. 2. Hey Steam arnt game makers supposed to load their patches through steam? Final thoughts, I think the story itself is worth the asking price if you dont mind thinking a little about what your reading and rearranging it in your head to make more sense. Do Not bother with the patch, Until and If the game maker fixes it and Lets us know its been fixed (like on the main page here in the store) Better yet, just do an auto update like every other game on steam does, but only AFTER testing the patch first please! I hope that comes across as more helpful than nit picking. Think this could be a really nice short cute game well worth $2 if you just fix that.
WHOOO Doggie!!! The Translation is so horrendous... I haven't any idea what dem youngin' even talkin' about!!! I be more than happy to run a different Translator through it... An updated one and yet... There is no original language attached to this one! And no, I don't care to download random stuff off some random website somewhere in the depths of heaven. ANYWAY. I would only get this if you want to laugh your ass off. For a few minutes. Then you'll be eye rolling super hard at every problem and getting confused over everything. It's a marvel to behold. "DOGBERRY!!!!!!!!!!"
Thanks to the latest update to the game, I'm actually able to play it! It's sad, that the translation is so horrible. Because Melting Pot is actually a really cute and interesting game, even if it is a bit on the short side. I really like it and I hope that, one day, there will be another update to overhaul the translation. I recommend the game to any hardcore BL or Visual Novel fan. Might not be the kind of game for casual gamers, though, who expect a certain 'standard', I guess.
I wish this game had a proper translation. Melting pot is a pretty good Visual Novel. The artwork was nice, but only 800x600. Which isn't an issue; If played Windowed. Even the story seems to be rather alright. But sadly: It's really hard to understand it. There are some weird translations in here. Very broken english, which is unfortunate. And It came out in 2011, that is a decade. Hm, why didn't they fix the grammar yet? A decade old novel with awful translation. Yea, It probably wasn't profitable enough. Otherwise, I dunno why it still isn't fixed? It is a cheap game, I enjoyed playing this. Would I recommend it, though? Well, no. There are better yaoi novels you can get. Why bother with a poorly translated one. The sole point of visual novels is the text. Badly translated visual novel is really sad.

Every time I try to get a friend to read anything in this game it takes about one or two paragraphs to break their brain.
