i mean i played it. screen shake sucks. bright light sucks. sound effects annoying. ui is completely destroyed. you sir, are a ESL thirdworld terrible game designer. if you made it less annoying and you put some limitations on it that help it not freeze i could see this being comparable to 20 minutes to dawn or whatever you were going for. also the screen effect you use is terrible. sorry to take a huge dump on your game kid.
MechCrisis is a sci-fi roguelike shooter developed by Team_Bug and published by Team_Bug that places players in the middle of a desperate battle against an army of intelligent machines. Combining survival-based gameplay, character progression, weapon customization, and fast-paced combat, the game follows a familiar formula within the increasingly popular roguelike action genre while introducing enough customization options to establish its own identity. The result is an entertaining and accessible experience that rewards experimentation, strategic planning, and the ability to adapt under pressure. The game's premise is straightforward but effective. Humanity faces a threat from hostile mechanical forces, and players must fight through relentless waves of robotic enemies while growing stronger throughout each run. The objective is simple: survive, evolve, and overcome increasingly dangerous opponents. This uncomplicated setup allows the game to focus almost entirely on gameplay, placing players directly into the action without lengthy introductions or excessive exposition. From the opening moments, the emphasis is on combat, progression, and finding the most effective ways to deal with overwhelming odds. Combat serves as the centerpiece of the experience and remains engaging thanks to the constant escalation of difficulty. Early encounters provide an opportunity to learn the basics, but the battlefield quickly becomes crowded with aggressive enemies, dangerous projectiles, and elite opponents that demand greater awareness. The challenge increases steadily, creating a satisfying sense of momentum as players transition from struggling against small groups of enemies to surviving large-scale assaults. Every successful run feels earned because progression depends on both player skill and intelligent decision-making. One of the game's strongest features is its variety of weapons. Rather than restricting players to a single combat style, MechCrisis offers numerous firearms and offensive tools that significantly affect gameplay. Some weapons excel at eliminating large groups of enemies, while others focus on precision or high damage against powerful targets. Switching between different loadouts can completely change the rhythm of a run, encouraging players to experiment and discover combinations that complement their preferred approach. This flexibility helps maintain long-term interest and ensures that combat remains varied across multiple playthroughs. The progression system is another highlight. During each run, players acquire upgrades that enhance their abilities and shape the development of their character. New skills, passive bonuses, and special effects gradually transform a basic fighter into a highly specialized machine-destroying force. Because upgrade options vary between sessions, players are constantly encouraged to adapt their strategies and explore new combinations. This unpredictability is one of the key reasons the game remains enjoyable over repeated runs, as there is always the possibility of discovering a particularly powerful or creative build. Perhaps the most distinctive mechanic is the weapon modification system. Rather than relying solely on traditional upgrades, the game allows players to collect and combine various gun components that alter weapon behavior. These modifications can dramatically affect performance, creating opportunities for highly customized builds. Some players may focus on maximizing raw damage, while others prioritize attack speed, area control, or survivability. This additional layer of customization gives the game greater strategic depth and allows players to feel a stronger sense of ownership over their chosen playstyle. Character selection also contributes to replayability. Multiple heroes are available, each equipped with unique abilities and strengths. These differences encourage experimentation because changing characters often requires adjusting combat strategies and upgrade priorities. The characters are more than cosmetic alternatives; they influence how players approach encounters and which builds are most effective. This variety helps prevent the gameplay from becoming repetitive and provides additional reasons to return after completing successful runs. Enemy variety keeps the action engaging throughout the campaign. Mechanical adversaries come in numerous forms, each presenting different threats and attack patterns. As players progress, they encounter larger and more dangerous enemies that demand increasingly sophisticated tactics. Boss battles provide some of the game's most exciting moments, testing both player skill and the effectiveness of chosen builds. These encounters serve as rewarding milestones and create memorable highlights during longer sessions. Visually, MechCrisis adopts a colorful futuristic style that fits its robotic warfare theme. The environments, effects, and enemy designs are easy to read during intense combat, which is particularly important in a game where dozens of enemies can occupy the screen simultaneously. While the graphics do not attempt to compete with major AAA releases, they successfully communicate information and maintain a satisfying level of visual clarity. Recent updates have also improved environmental assets, effects, and overall presentation, helping the game feel more polished over time. The developers deserve credit for their continued post-launch support. Multiple updates have addressed balance concerns, improved performance, refined enemy behavior, and introduced quality-of-life enhancements. These ongoing improvements demonstrate a willingness to listen to feedback and strengthen the experience after release. As a result, the current version feels more refined than earlier iterations and benefits from a greater degree of stability and responsiveness. The game is not without flaws. Like many titles within the roguelike survival genre, it operates in a crowded market filled with strong competitors. Some players may find certain systems somewhat familiar, and the overall scope remains relatively modest compared to larger productions. The learning curve surrounding weapon modifications and build optimization can also be intimidating for newcomers. Nevertheless, these issues rarely overshadow the game's strengths, particularly for players who enjoy experimentation and character customization. What ultimately makes MechCrisis enjoyable is its focus on player freedom. Every run presents opportunities to create new builds, test unusual strategies, and discover combinations that dramatically alter gameplay. The interaction between characters, weapons, upgrades, and modifications creates a satisfying cycle of experimentation and improvement that encourages repeated play. Even when a run ends in failure, players often leave with new ideas for future attempts. MechCrisis may not revolutionize the roguelike shooter genre, but it succeeds in delivering a fun and engaging experience built around customization, progression, and survival. Its combination of challenging combat, flexible build creation, distinct playable characters, and ongoing developer support makes it a worthwhile choice for fans of action-focused roguelikes. Players who enjoy refining strategies and battling increasingly powerful enemies will find plenty of reasons to return for one more run. Rating: 6/10
