A Game I Used to Love Has Become Pay-to-Play I have played Matchington Mansion for years, and I use to absolutely love this game. Unfortunately, I’m seriously considering quitting. The game has become incredibly frustrating. I repeatedly get stuck on one puzzle, and feels nearly impossible to move forward unless I spend money. I have paid plenty of times to buy coins, extra moves, and extended my playing time because I enjoy the game. But lately,it feels like the game is designed to make you pay if you actually want to keep playing. I understand that this is a business and that you need to make money. But there is a big difference between offering purchases and making people feel like purchasing is the only realistic way to progress. And the side games? After playing for years, I have never won one. At this point, the events are more frustrating than fun. I shouldn’t have to continually spend money just to get past a puzzle that I have been stuck on for days. When I finally do pay to continue, it feels less like a reward and more like being forced to buy my way out. I’m a longtime player who has already supported this game financially. I shouldn’t feel punished for choosing not to spend money every time I play. The game used to be about having fun, decorating the mansion, and seeing what was coming next. Now it feels like more and more like “pay to play”. That is incredibly disappointing because I really do love this game. But loyalty works both ways. If you want longtime players to stick around, give us a reason to keep playing-even when we don’t spend money. Please listen to your longtime players. Make the puzzles challenging, but make them fair. Give players a reasonable chance to progress without constantly reaching for their wallets. Otherwise, you may eventually make your most loyal players quit.
Would have been 5 if …. Would have been 5 stars if not for the following. I have so so many stars and wait for updates. Can’t the stars been used to by $ for extra moves or lives or even in mini games??
More Merge I love the Merge game side quests, more of those please!
Event out of reach I have enjoyed this game for several years. However, I believe they have become greedy with money. They make most of the events impossible to reach the end and win the reward. They want you to spend money so that you are able to get more coins and the weapons that you need to be able to reach the event before the deadline. Unless you play 12 hours out of the day or spend a fortune on getting to each level, you likely will not win the final finale event events. You will get close, and you will get some rewards along the way so that you feel like you were winning, but most likely you will not reach the end. Not where the big rewards are. I have repeatedly messaged them about this and they keep saying they will pass it along and they listen to their customers, but they clearly don’t. Most of the events just need an extra day on them.
Bug? The game is honestly highly addictive but my game will not let me close out of the “masterpiece showdown” pop up. I have tried reopening the app multiple times and clicking ever single button multiple times and it just won’t close. I can’t go back to the mansion or anything else. Overall the pop ups for the small events are also so ridiculously annoying. I love the mini challenges you can do alongside playing the game but the 7 pop ups after every game you finish are so annoying and some of them you can’t exit out of until you follow the dumb tutorial.
Please fix This isn’t a review it’s more of a comment. I wish you had a comment section. I’ve been playing this game for a while now and it’s my go to. I love when you have the games within the games. However I noticed when playing when you have too much of one item say a horseshoe and you need more belt buckles you can no longer sell that horseshoe back and get your energy back so you can try again for a belt buckle. Last time there was a game within a game I noticed when playing in 2x when you go to sell something back you only get one energy which is not enough to cover another choice. I didn’t like that but now not receiving anything is so wrong! It will take forever to play and win a game. I’m old fashion and I don’t buy my success. I play for my wins. Just wanted to come here and say that while my energy renews because I need more belt buckles and all I have are horseshoes.
More options I would like more chances to use my Bertie coins to buy furniture. I would love it to be on old furniture events. Also an option to talk to teammates more.
Money Trap This game used to be fun. Now you get less than half of the rewards that you used to get. Takes forever to get updates on the storyboard so that you can earn more prizes. Always bots that you are playing against just so you will spend a lot money to earn prizes. I would spend a little money here and there but now it’s completely out of hand. Greed at its finest
Good Efabuluse
