sony when they have to sabotage their pc port cuz theyre bored
The game is a blast, but the issues with online play have persisted from Beta and gotten even worse from the hour I spent trying to get my ten matches in to queue ranked. By the end I had zero desire to try ranked and am refunding unless something is done.
Love the game but I can't play more than 30 mins without it causing my PC to hard crash, BSOD style (but just getting black screen to reboot). Had no issues with the beta which i played for hours and hours with no issue. Please fix ASAP.
I love Marvel. I grew up loving Marvel fighting games, and the frustrating part is: I genuinely love this game. But I do NOT love the state this game is in. It's embarrassing. In a single night, the game crashed on me three separate times. The first crash corrupted my save and left the game unable to load it without completely resetting my progress. After manually recovering an older version of my save through Windows, I got back in only for the game to crash and corrupt it again. I recovered it a second time and gave the game another chance. It crashed a THIRD TIME, this time in the middle of a match, completely freezing my entire PC and forcing a hard shutdown. Three crashes. Two corrupted saves. One completely frozen PC. See what I did there? ;) That's not a minor launch bug. That's not an occasional hiccup. That's a game I now don't feel comfortable launching because I'm wondering whether the next match is going to destroy my save again. And that sucks, because underneath all of this is a fighting game I really, really like. I want to play it. I want to recommend it. I want this to be another Marvel fighting game I sink a ridiculous amount of time into. But I can't recommend a game that repeatedly punishes me just for trying to play it. I've requested a refund. If the stability problems are fixed, I'd genuinely consider buying it again. But right now, this game is simply not in a condition I consider reliably playable or sellable.
Incredible fighting game! I've been long disappointed with ArcSys' recent lineup, and they finally seem to have broken good ground with a game that has creativity, accessibility and complexity, without feeling overly restrictive or linear. There are some issues worth ironing out, but they've been quick to address them from the betas to now. This is the most excited I've been for a new fighting game in many years (and didn't end up burned by the purchase). Now look at my specs. By the way, all of these negative reviews are for nothing. It's ArcSys that loses here by having their game sabotaged. Sony's already been planning on pulling out of the PC market given their games don't sell, and will just write it off to their shareholders by saying "See? Our players prefer playing on PlayStation." That, and the invasive anticheat is obviously a measure against the competition of the Steam Deck/Machine as well as the potential XBOX competitor to those and the Switch. They sincerely don't care. It's a total win that this PC port is a wreck, more to the pile for their vendor lock-in.

how to kill your fighting game in five minutes: add EAC and mandatory playstation account linking ah yes this will bode well with the FGC, we surely needed an anticheat in the genre so complex that cheaters get bodied into quitting by better actual players, no you don't understand we need EAC it stops the small village of cheaters that exist in the FGC somewhere it's so important. even though they're so miniscule that 99% of players never run into one! what do you mean it's implementation crippled Linux AND cripples the modding scene so the community can't make cool new things to further keep the game alive like skins or modded characters to play around with in the lab or private lobbies? what? we shouldn't add playstation linking? you don't want free spyware with your fighting game? you don't like tanking frames because of the playstation service needing to constantly run in the background for no reason? we shouldn't add it cause it's gonna lock out half the FGC? playstation accounts don't work in their country? nonsense! what? say again? you said the game uses regional pricing that makes it even more overpriced like every other playstation port to pc? the FGC comes from tons of different countries worldwide and can't play because of this stupid account linking and pricing? what? come on. you don't like buying a PC just to still have to deal with mandatory console DRM? what do you mean? no man they'll still buy the game trust us bro they like paying 70 dollars or more (regional pricing remember) just to find out they can't get past the menu screen all because of a useless account link! what? say one more time? you said this game looks worse than Strive but still runs like it's being dragged through mud? nah bro just upgrade your PC it's not like this community has tons of players and competitors from countries who can't afford top of the line hardware in their economy, we had to add mandatory playstation services to the game man it needs it! what do you mean a lot of the FGC likes and uses Linux and they can't play now? it's lightweight and unintrusive so it's good for competitive play on lower end hardware ontop of eliminating the risk of interruptions from windows updates or AI bloatware? what? nah man Linux doesn't matter. you said we doomed this game with all of our anti-consumer practices that the FGC justifiably hates because they just want a game that works out of the box on as much hardware as possible and is reasonably priced? we alienated half the community with useless additions no one likes or asked for? nah man, can't be our fault we're the all-knowing company, it's the FGC's fault! what are we doing bro. it's a shame because the game is good, but Sony is Sony.
A poorly optimized port of what would be a pretty good fighting game. This genre will forever be plagued by poor releases and barebones content unless something changes. A big IP like Marvel should have set a new standard. Instead, we get one-sided rollback in the year of our Lord 2026. :CircusMan_Emblem: :steamsalty: :csgoskull:
Have no technical issues with it. Feels like a mix of everything Arc Sys has worked on bundled into 1 game with 4v4 tag being the standout feature. Having been a casual enjoyer of other fighting games, I would say this one might be the sweatiest one I've played. The skill ceiling is very high. The ability to swap between 4 characters gives an incredibly dense space for in-game choices and possibilites, and the cognitive mental stack of what is going on feels much higher than I'd say strive or street fighter 6. Plenty to enjoy for people wanting to get into fighting games but I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner as much as I would recommend Strive or Street Fighter 6. For people who actually play fighting games there is much to love and enjoy. Very fun game. If you enjoy labbing stuff in the training room then this game is definitely for you.
Remove the EAC and hopefully the Sony SDK as well and improve performance
