Marvel's Midnight Suns

Bought this game for 9 bucks on sale, definitely worth it at that price. My biggest complaint about this game is having to explore the abbey grounds, which can get tedious and boring quick. The story is okay, it's not too deep but it's good enough. The combat is where this game shines: there are so many different combinations and synergies. I do wish that there were more cards though, especially for heroes that are not the main character. I wasn't a fan of the ending mission but again, for 9 bucks? I can't really complain. I would not buy this game at full price. Wait for a sale.

Goth Baddies dating simulator

Very interesting mix of deckbuilding and RPG elements with the wild world of Marvel. Even outside of the combat there is a lot of fun with exploring the Abbey between missions and just overhearing so much or finding neat puzzles and quests around. While some of the characters can get a bit annoying for the sake of team drama, there is a ton of amazing comic campiness mixed with those moments that keep me going. Always welcome to see Robbie get more love, and seeing unique interactions with teams built up also can be hilarious with talk and crazy results in game. Been having a blast with it, wish this got more love and exposure could have been great to see better expansions or even a sequel. But enjoyed this a ton either way!

Goofy dialogue at times, but the core game is quality and challenging.

its fun back then but lately there is performance issue on the training yard keep dropping fps. grinding friendship can be annoying with random night hangout. unless you bring your main character to bond with the heroes you like. If you are looking for longer like x-com gameplay this is probably not the best to look. its a short game otherwise, once you get every card min maxing its start feeling repetitive.

GREAT RPG and CARD STRATEGY GAME

Marvel's Midnight Suns - 9/10 - I don't usually replay games often, but Marvel's Midnight Suns was one of my favorite games the year it came out. Playing it again a few years later, I can safely say that's still true. First off, the weakest part is probably the main plot involving Lilith and Hydra. It's nothing special, evil forces taking over and we have to stop them. You've heard this Marvel trope before. Luckily, the characters are great. Hanging out with them at the Abbey, getting to know them through the friendship system, watching TV, playing video games, and chilling at the pool is perfect. Seeing their emotional growth through the game as you build your custom protagonist, The Hunter, and watching them become a massive, cohesive team is awesome. The gameplay, though, is the absolute best part. It features a fantastic tactical, turn-based gridless system mixed with a deep, deck-building card mechanic. It's easy enough to get into if you don't usually like card games but still love turn-based RPGs, thanks to the environmental attacks that don't cost cards. But if you're like me and like both, it's super fun to build character-specific decks, manage Heroism, and become OP as ♥♥♥♥ with certain team synergies. Since this was a replay, I got to try the DLC characters for the first time. Morbius was a surprise, a very fun "Bleed" mechanic user. Storm can be fun with her high-voltage chain attacks, but she's probably my least favorite of the four. Deadpool is a total wildcard, no pun intended, with a fun "En Fuego" mechanic that rewards you for avoiding damage. But the best is Venom; he's a hulking monster who utilizes a unique Ravenous meter to dish out an insane output of damage. I absolutely loved him. Overall, I love this game. Even with a weaker main plot, the gameplay, the deep character interactions, the cosmetic customization, and so much more make this a joy to play. A 9 out of 10.
