Genuinely not a good game.
If you wanted to play as your favorite marvel characters, as I did, this game will fulfill your fantasy for about as long as until you get in your first team fight. Well, this is assuming you can run the damn thing in the first place. Regardless, you wont be able to see ♥♥♥♥ on your screen. With so much visual clutter, its a miracle everyone playing the game hasn't lost their vision permanently.
Outside how terrible being able to decipher your team from the enemy, as well as the ground you're standing on, the actual balancing of the game is atrocious too. Too many characters are overpowered, while just as many have fallen between the cracks, forgotten by the creators because as far as they're concerned, Luna needs five more legendaries in her arsenal. Speaking of skins, did you know all the black characters have generally less skins than most others? That the One black character that does share many only does because he is attached to a white woman?
Most of the community has of course tried to defend this company with their lives in hopes for... I don't know. Brownie points Im guessing. Free chrono tokens that vanish by the end of the season too. But there is no denying the rampant racism this game has infecting every pore of its existence.
From the lack of skins, to the lack of meaningful attention to those characters (naming Blade, Black Panther and Storm), it is also a questionable choice to have all the women have legendary summer skins with long MVPs of them relaxing, while the only black woman not only gets an epic; but her MVP is shorter than a moths lifespan featuring her being aggressive and fighting nothing.
Delving deeper into the issue of racism, the player base is full of man children that love spitting out slurs like its a COD lobby. This includes crude sexism, homophobia and racism. Reporting them does VERY little, if at all, but here is where things get interesting:
Recently there has been a movement to throw games when someone in your team exhibits racist behavior. Now, NetEase has been pleaded with for a while now to crack down on throwers, with only radio silence as a response. However with this new movement, miraculously they remembered they were supposed to be trying to fix their game, and now they have implemented harsher ways of taking care of throwers. On top of this, they have in fact removed a way for you to report racist speech completely.'
I can say a million things about this game, from the terrible matchmaking, to the mind numbing neglect of key issues that are hurting this game as a whole. But nothing of that amounts to the clear issue that has been growing more apparent as each season passes:
NetEase is deeply racist. They have allowed and facilitated racist behavior, as well as general hateful and aggressive behavior amongst the community. They do not care about the harm they are actively contributing, and they do not deserve to have their game live any longer. Do not give them your money, your attention, nor an added number to who plays this ♥♥♥♥ ass game. I know I regret spending so much of my precious time on this, and I will be giving up on it.
