About

Welcome to UCSC—well, kind of.
This isn’t the sunny college campus you remember. In this 2D puzzle horror game, you're dropped into a fog-drenched, twisted version of UC Santa Cruz where nothing feels quite right. Familiar landmarks are warped, the silence is heavy, and the mist hides more than just bad weather.
You’ll explore eerie paths and unsettling buildings as you piece together the story behind Markus—a guy with a past so dark, it’s bleeding into reality. Solve creepy puzzles, uncover buried memories, and try not to get too lost in the fog (literally and emotionally).
Key Features:
🧩 Puzzle-Based Exploration: Navigate through haunted versions of labs, libraries, and forest trails. Solve logic puzzles to unlock new areas and piece together fragments of Markus’s mind.
🕯️ Atmospheric Horror: Inspired by Silent Hill and Mad Father, this game focuses on slow-building dread, psychological unease, and eerie sound design—not some cheap jump scares.
🗺️ A Twisted UCSC Campus: Iconic locations like the Quarry Plaza and Porter Meadow are reimagined in a surreal nightmare. Expect familiar spaces, distorted by guilt and memory.
📖 Narrative-Driven Gameplay: Dive into a branching, emotionally charged story with themes of trauma, regret, and identity. Your choices affect how much of Markus’s truth you uncover.
🧠 Estimated Playtime: 1–2 hours
Inspired by spooky favorites like Mad Father and the chilling vibes of Silent Hill, this game mixes emotional storytelling with mind-bending mystery. It’s not about cheap scares—it’s about slowly realizing that something’s really wrong here...
On a side note...all characters, locations, and events in this game are entirely fictional. While the setting draws inspiration from the real UC Santa Cruz campus, this is not a reflection of the actual university. Any resemblance to real people—living or dead—is purely coincidental. But the Markus irl is pretty rad 😎
So grab your flashlight, steady your nerves, and get ready to uncover the secrets hidden in the fog...
Welcome (back?) to UCSC. You might not leave the same.

my sisters help make this game and i was forced to play a somewhat unpolished version. this new version of the game is really good and still has the same story and length to beat as the original one, but it's fun. only takes like an hour to beat on your first run

This was genuinely peak fiction. I've never sunk so many hours into a game in one night like that before. I am absolutely goated at the game now. Try beating my speedrun 5:07. 11/10 i would pay money for this

its a really good game, love the pixel art and animation! but i didnt understand at some points where i needed to be/do, and i did get stuck and tried to reset but i ended up restarting it on accident which is my bad. i love the lore, and the mechanics are really good! i do need to complete it fully but from where ive got, it all was good. good job on the game, really!
as someone whose never been to santa cruz, it was fun to experience the campus as a bite-sized afternoon-worthy lil puzzle game. it has creative, but fair puzzles that build on each other with cute narrative stringing it all together--basically everything you'd want from a puzzle game. by the end, I really felt like markus.

a lynchian tribute to hole
I wanted to enjoy this, but unfortunately until the developer fixes the bugs I cannot. The game has crashed twice and with no save function all progress is lost each time
Really cute game. I like the fog, and I would spend 15 hours clearing every pixel of fog I am capable of. My only complaints are that there is no saving, and when you die you go back to the start ._.
Momentum
