About

Ninety-nine years ago, mushrooms took to the skies, their spores landing on magical, floating islands and blossoming into a happy, joyous civilization. Unfortunately, every ten years a giant storm passes through the Shroomy Isles and reduces everything to little more than mycelium and a couple of berry brushes. As the tenth storm looms upon the Isles, the first little storm cloud puts a big idea in the tiniest shroom's head: Unite the shrooms! Fight back against the weather!!
March of Shrooms is a frenetic, cheery crowd brawler that chronicles the tiny shroom's epic odyssey to unite shroomkind against the coming storm! Punch your way to unity, happiness, and berries for everyone through a vibrant, effervescent world, full of mysteries, bubbles, and of course, shrooms.

Lead the shroomvolution at the head of an entire platoon. Command up to 30+ shrooms at once.
Pick and choose from over 40 distinct species, each with special looks and skills to contribute.
Customize the shrooms for brawling, dividing them into squads, each with its own order, size, and purpose.

Brawl across hand-crafted levels each with their own personalities and gameplay quirks that will keep you on your myc--er, feet.
Every chapter is a brand new set of levels, with fresh environments, challenges, and buffs. Floating upgrades, explosive chains, and of course, tons of berries to collect.
Replay levels on higher difficulties to earn rare items, face completely new encounters, and unlock new upgrades for the tiny shroom's big village.

Ushering in a new age for shroomkind isn't easy, but fret not. March of Shrooms is designed to be easy to learn but difficult to master, with something for casual and hardcore players alike.
Fight the greedy shrooms, not the keyboard. A simple, flexible control scheme lets anyone control the shroom-platoon with ease on both controllers or mouse and keyboard.
Choose your Brand™: Color the platoon as soft and squishy as tapioca in bubble tea when you're in the mood to relax - or make it fizzy and bubbly like crisp soda when you're in the mood for a challenge! The shrooms don't judge.

Seriously, there are so many they'll follow you everywhere, from the map screen, through the village, to the ends of the Shroomy Islands - all hoping that the tiniest shroom will realize their biggest dreams and cover you with their growing love.
So, whatcha waiting for? Let the march of the shrooms begin!

This game exudes charm and atmosphere. I’m a big sucker for games with killer progression/customization systems and I swear I just spent most of my playtime messing around with customizing my platoon and shroom village! Diving back in now, but seriously Don’t sleep on this gem. It has a TON of great content under it’s seemingly candy-coated exterior.
Its a cute game, very chill and easy game Fun overall :D
Cute game that really fills the hole that Patapon left behind. Love the variety of shrooms and the freedom to aim. Definitely a game to play when I'm chilling or feel deep existential dread :D
Amazing game. Cannot believe the affordable price of the game given the amount and quality of content. Great replay value as well. A must buy!
The game was a cute idea, I didn't get far into it because of the controls though, they are so wonky that I kept trying to move my mushrooms and it kept going all around the controls VS doing what i wanted/needed. Would love to play a game LIKE this with better controls.
i spam the butins
Its a cute cheap game, not too bad I like the mushroom sounds and squishiness
March of Shrooms presents itself as a deceptively simple and irresistibly charming experience, but beneath its pastel colours and cheerful mushroom characters lies a game with more personality than you might initially expect. Its world of floating Shroomy Isles immediately establishes a whimsical tone, full of soft pixel-art landscapes and small visual details that give the setting life. Though the narrative is light, the premise is pleasantly unusual: a century-long cycle of storms threatens to wipe the mushroom tribes back to spores, and a determined little shroom decides the time has come to unite the scattered clans before the next upheaval arrives. The setup strikes a balance between cute and slightly melancholic, and it provides just enough motivation for the campaign without ever intruding on the game’s breezy atmosphere. Once you begin your journey, the core gameplay quickly reveals itself as a hybrid of side-scrolling action and lightweight real-time strategy. You command a growing squad of mushrooms, each with their own role: attackers that swarm forward, defenders that hold the line, healers that keep everyone moving, and a variety of quirky specialists that add new twists to your formations. With over forty types to unlock and experiment with, the game encourages tinkering with different team compositions, and the simple control scheme keeps everything accessible even when the screen fills with movement. Levels are intentionally brief—often just a couple of minutes long—making the game ideal for short, punchy play sessions. This structure creates a satisfying loop: assemble a squad, dash through a stage, gather berries and upgrades, and tweak your setup before diving back in. This rhythm of quick progression pairs well with the game’s visual and audio design. The pixel art is consistently appealing, full of personality without relying on excessive detail. Each mushroom type has a distinct silhouette and animation style, making your squads easy to read at a glance even during chaotic moments. The soundtrack leans heavily into upbeat, looping melodies that stick with you long after you stop playing, enhancing the game’s cheerful, almost toy-like energy. The hub area between levels reinforces this cozy mood; it’s a simple space, but its colours, soft lighting, and little touches give the impression of a living world rather than a mere menu. However, the game’s focus on accessibility and fast pacing has its drawbacks. Because levels progress so quickly, the structure can sometimes feel repetitive if you play for long stretches, with stages blending into one another despite environmental differences. The action is enjoyable, but the repetition of similar enemy waves and objectives means that the game shines brightest when played in small bursts rather than as an extended marathon. Control quirks occasionally interrupt the flow as well. While movement and combat are simple enough, switching between menus or adjusting your squad layout can feel clunky, particularly if you rely entirely on a controller. Remapping keys helps, but some players may find the interface less intuitive than the rest of the experience. Despite these limitations, March of Shrooms manages to deliver surprising replay value for such a compact game. Each level can be tackled again on higher difficulties, introducing tougher enemies and rewarding rare materials needed for late-game upgrades. There is a pleasing sense of growth as your squads become more specialized, and the steady trickle of new mushroom types keeps experimentation fresh. The challenge does ramp up if you seek it out, offering a modest strategic layer beneath the game’s cute exterior—but it never becomes overwhelming or demanding in the way of more complex RTS or tactics titles. It strikes a comfortable middle ground, approachable for casual players while still giving completionists enough to dig into. Taken as a whole, March of Shrooms succeeds because it embraces what it wants to be: a cozy, colourful, and consistently enjoyable action-strategy hybrid with a strong sense of charm. It doesn’t strive for deep storytelling or sprawling tactical systems, and that restraint works in its favour. Instead, it offers a steady stream of short, satisfying battles, a delightful cast of little mushroom fighters, and a visual identity that feels both playful and polished. Its minor issues—repetition, a few rough edges in the controls, and a lightweight narrative—never overshadow the sense of fun at the heart of the experience. For players who enjoy quirky indie games that mix simple mechanics with endearing worlds, this is a delightful and worthwhile adventure. Rating: 8/10
