I'd quite like Bungie to be able to make this game work but it's clear that something about it isn't really built for a wide audience, That weakness may well be the extraction shooter genre. I do love the art style, the storytelling, the design choices, but am much less fond of PVP and the way that feels. This is true for me and I have no desire to learn a PVP playstyle or to try and become a really hardcore PVP player. I got the game after a bunch of friends who I'd originally played Destiny with bought it and started playing it very heavily during season 1. Most of those players have quit now. I've enjoyed some of the PVE-style modes the devs have rapidly introduced into the game (Cryo Breaker / Experimental Queues etc) but overall I do worry this is a hasty way to introduce a new game mode after there was a lack of mass takeup for the PVP style. I can only imagine the pressure has ratcheted up considerably after Sony pulled the plug on Destiny 2. I hope the team are able to make a success of it, but I can't see myself playing the game with any regularity unless the game is able to double down on storytelling, interesting discovery, secrets, puzzles and challenges that aren't focused so much around killing other players or surviving other players. I do hope the team is able to make a success of it.
Good game but not for me. Not for me means i lose everything all the time cuz im disconected from the lobby one, twice, and then i jst unable to connect back, also im very often connection jump and desynch, and that a honest dead in firefight. I live in the capitals center about 1,5km from big-ass cell tower tho

THE GUN PLAY IS TRULY AMAZING, THE MAPS ARE REALLY GREAT, ESPECIALLY WITH NAVIGATION , I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
The TTK is great. The dev team has been pumping out experimental modes and good balance adjustments to shift the meta and keep the game feeling fresh. The most important thing to learn is that if you start spiraling into losses over and over.... take a break! It's not a forgiving extraction shooter. But, when you get a good exfil it feels amazing, I would recommend this game to anyone who likes Bungie shooters or extraction shooters. The PVE mode that just came out is a good mix of challenging and rewarding.
Marathon is ridiculously fun. Every run feels intense and unpredictable, and I constantly find myself wanting to jump back in. The world is weird, mysterious, and completely pulls you in. The marketing trailers are also absolutely fire!
Extraction shooter! Sequel to some 90's Bungie stuff. Cool pre-FTL vs more advanced society story. Lower autism/investment than Tarkov, more teamy and wiener punchy than ARC Raiders. There's always a free kit, and if you're up to it, quests to complete. In concrete terms, I think that the game is well developed, and only wish that there was more content in terms of maps.
Absolute gesamtkunstwerk.
