This is one of those games you come back to after 10 years only to realize it's still the same game you fell in love with, just bigger. Sure, MapleStory has added countless systems, classes, progression mechanics, and quality-of-life improvements over the years. But beneath all of that, the core gameplay loop is unchanged, and that's exactly why it has endured. It never lost its identity. Few MMORPGs can say they've remained relevant for over two decades while still feeling unmistakably like themselves. MapleStory isn't perfect, but it's one of the few games that can genuinely be called timeless. Playing it again instantly took me back to being 14 or 15, spending weekends at my friend's house grinding levels on his computer after scamming people on Gaia Online. Those memories hit harder than any nostalgia trip has a right to. Some games age. MapleStory just keeps growing.
Used to love this game but let's be real, it hasn't been fun since KPQ was a thing. Thought about maybe trying it again but now they have battlepasses and apparently from what I'm reading there's 3 or 4 of them right now. Nothing says Korean greed quite like current day MS.

This game is just terrible now. I remember liking it in the early days, but now it's just riddled with advertising, and pay to win junk. It's confusing and frustrating. It lost its soul. Most of my playtime was on the old dedicated launcher.
Nexon are the worst devs in history. They have to actively just hate their players or just be complete idiots. Somehow they just make the most god awful worst possible decisions they can at every chance they are given. One of the characters are too broken? Just completely remove them from the game so nobody can ever play them again. It's actually just a little mind blowing how evil these guys are. You could roll the same stats on a box which the devs deemed as a bug and started banning all the players who would use the items even though it was a thing that could just happen naturally. These guys do not like you and only want your money. Do not waste your time on this game
Run and don't ever look back.
nexon hates their playerbase, I really tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. E.X, they refuse to add universal cash shop.
This game will make you spend $100 and force you to purchase multiple game passes...Usually video games will have ONE game pass and the price will range from $5-$19.99. However this scam of a game company will release MULTIPLE game passes that range from $20-$60!!!!. For the lighting release for Erel people on average spent $75 on passes for the most recent challenger season! Only to find out you need to spend another $100 for the VAC pet and then it cost MONTHLY to even keep the VAC pet alive so you can use it. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME! IT is the most money hungry company that does not listen to their community! If servers go down, or you can not login to the game they will not compensate you for your time loss. As of 2 weeks of this post Nexxon plans to release another $100 in passes......Terrible company we just spent $75 last month and now you want us to spend another $75?
fun
not boring, but really ♥♥♥♥.
