Wow! This is a neat little gameboy esque platformer that plays like the bastard child of Mario Land and Adventure Island crossed with C-grade jank like Maru's Mission. The difficulty definitely ramps up around 2-2, but the game never feels TOO unfair, and the levels are pretty distinct from one another. The jumping takes a little getting used to but isn't terrible. The graphics, music, and overall presentation are 100% game boy goodness, and this really feels like a labor of love for people nostalgic about that era. Considering it's free, really not a bad way to spend an hour or two!

Mario Land-like platformer, nothing too special in this but it's quite playable. There were only a few small things I didn't like, e.g. there's one spot where it seems a platform is missing as you have to take a hit in order to progress. Sometimes you are forced to change your upgrade (or use one at all for that matter), which I consider a flaw (the classic Mario games sure were beatable as small Mario...). Most annoying is the final boss' ability to spawn exactly as many projectiles as he needs to hit you (I never managed to dodge those a single time in any attempt, and do note you need to beat him 3 times in the different modes...). But overall, this is quite decent, and you shouldn't have a problem 100% this, which is always the most important aspect of any game on Steam.
Bueno: - Gratuito - Pixel - Controles basicos Malo: - El nivel 2-2 es desproporcionadamente dificil
Very similar to the mario games on gameboy. If you liked those, you'll like this.
Yeah, its cool!
A free homage to Super Mario Land 2 and Wario Land. Mandew is playing his original grayscale brick Game Boy when he gets hit by a truck and isekai'd to a strange multi-cultural land also in grayscale, challenged by the mysterious entity In-Joke Online Handle to beat up four other retro gamer hobbyists and steal their precious old consoles to sell and lease a truck in the hopes that the same process might reverse the dimensional travel. It's a faithful Game Boy era Mario clone, right down to a slightly janky control scheme with reliable momentum but a floaty-feeling jump. Run from left to right and beat up monsters by jumping on their heads. The first 3 worlds play things pretty close to the chest, all competent design but nothing really standout. The power-up selection is nice with some good enemy interactions, graphics/aesthetic are good for what they're going for, platforming is decent, it's Suits & Sandals so the soundtrack punches above its weight class but is still limited to very simple albeit catchy chiptunes. Nothing obnoxious from bosses, just about serviceable. In 3-4 Mandew becomes bolder, having successfully paid tribute to its inspiration, and begins to stretch a little. The S&S penchant for charming details and polish shows through, love the ninja-themed level and enemy costumes, world 4 really stretches and feels like a bold attempt at standing on par with good Mario levels and mostly succeeds, level design and graphics becoming more complicated and overall better. The final boss is a highlight and the best one, ending Mandew on a high note. Controls can be awkward, particularly holding sprint while timing when to hold jump or not, especially when combined with bunny-ears hovering button tapping. At least controls tend to be reliable and "hold Jump for max bounce or release it for small bounce" can trial and error a tough section. The progressive power-up is used too often(if you're "small" Mandew then almost every power-up just gives you an extra hit, if you preserve it to the next you get a real one to have fun with) and you're punished harshly for every mistake even from full power-up state, sent back to small with no in-between. Checkpoints can offer no power-ups before pushing you back towards the section that killed you and often one mistake makes the game even harder when you'd need some safety the most. Sometimes full power-ups are set out in the open and they're done so with intelligent purpose and Mandew has decent level design overall so it's not a dealbreaker, though World 4 can be a little unintuitive(4-3) or a touch too long at some parts(4-4.) If this were an actual Game Boy title release during the era it'd be one of the better ones. It's short and free to try and pleasant by the end, particularly when you marry a fox-girl. As I solemnly wrap up my last few Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls achievements with the Berserk Race clear and prepare to enter the long, cold winter before War Girl and Khimera 2 I found Mandew to be a fun little peek at S&S's first release. It's hard to go wrong with respect for source material as good as Mario Land and Wario Land. If you like this one and haven't seen it yet Khimera 1 is free as well and plays like an excellent chimera of Wario Land and Mega Man X. Platformer fans owe Suits & Sandals a shot.
Joguinho legal!
Maybe it's not as polished as Mario or Celeste, but Mandew is a good time, and controls just fine, eye em ehch oh. I certainly never felt like I was, "wrestling with the controls," or anything like that. I've seen comments that say the run button is pointless, which I respectfully disagree with, as releasing and re-pressing the run button during jumps can change your jump height and help you avoid ceiling spikes, et cetera. The game also starts super easy, but has a very well plotted increase in difficulty, with some later stages posing genuinely hard, but gratifying, challenges. The incessantly falling ceiling in level 4-2 was a real highlight. Plus, it's free. Mandew!
Mandew vs the Colorless Curse is a really good action, platformer made by the same people that made Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls. Alright then story. It was a beautiful day like any other, so good in fact that a young man named Mandew decides to play his handheld consoles outside, but for some reason he is soon transported into another world, then a fairy tells him he is trapped in the colorless world and the only way out is to get all four golden consoles. Now the likes, the gameplay is really good, it's made in the style of old side scrollers, but this is hard but fair with really tight controls. It’s no surprise since this is the same people that brought us Khimera, like that game this is challenging but again quite fair it just takes some time figuring out the controls/game and when you learn them you can become very good at it. The graphics are very good done in the style of classic side scrolling handheld games, it has a great use of black and white colors and designs, The levels are very good each one has its own distinct look that's quite pleasing to see, both the graphics and levels does a really good job in capturing the feel and look of an old school platformer. The enemies and bosses are very good each one has its own adorable design, just like the makers previous game. The story was good it’s quite simple and also uses some nice call backs of other side scrollers, mostly Mario I also found the ending very adorable. The music is good with plenty of great tracks to listen too and that fits the game’s visuals and feel very well. I also like that this game is free. Now as you know this is where I put the dislikes but there is nothing to dislike about this game, it’s absolutely 100% perfect. Now that I told you all this Mandew vs the Colorless Curse is a really good action, platformer made by the same people that made Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls. It has really good gameplay, very good enemies and bosses and a good story, so I recommend this game if you liked Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls then you're definitely going to enjoy this game as well.
