Sooo, wasn't sure what to expect from this one and what I found was... Well, mostly smut. Decent-quality, vanilla smut that has just enough story and context to qualify as something more than a collection of random hentai scenes. I would even say I enjoyed most of them, even though I'm usually not that big on eroge (the only scenes I didn't like much were Kiyoko's, less because of her body type and more because they felt strangely out of character and a bit cringeworthy - I also find the fact Mira, the alien captain's assistant didn't have any borderline-criminal). With three heroines and two scenes for each of them, it's quite a lot of h-content with decent enough variety. Also, don't get me wrong, time-wise, the hentai scenes are all at the end of the story and take up lesser part of the experience, but the plot is more a collection of gags than anything else. It's also pretty generic - with a name like this, you would expect a lot of meta-humour and some kinds of twists to the formula, but it's not really there. The protagonist often breaks the fourth wall, but his remarks are mostly brief and not that original - it's a tiny bit of flavour on what is otherwise a very, very standard comedic VN. And not a particularly funny one at that. The visuals, music and voice acting were all ok - hentai CGs even surprised me a bit with the amount of detail. I'm never really a fan of partial voice acting (here voiced and unvoiced lines were mixed a bit randomly) and the protagonist being voiced was a pretty big surprise, but if you realize you don't like the voices you can easily silence them, so I can't really complain about it. In the end, is this game worth your time and money? I didn't have a bad time with it, but I'm not sure if it's worth the full asking price. I'd recommend buying it on sale, as it's a pretty small and linear game without any real surprises to it. Still, there are definitely things to be enjoyed in it and you probably won't regret giving it a chance. -------- PS If you're interested in quality Western VNs, check out my curator page.
Main Character Simulator is a short Eroge (~2.5 hours for all Routes) that feature a little bit of Comedy, Romance and Fantasy. You play as a normal Student that has 2 female Friends, when one of them finds a strange Gem that actually belongs to Aliens. A pretty funny little Story with decent Writing and an English Voice Acting, although not all Lines are Voice Acted and the Mixing of the Voices isnt the best. For this small of an Indie VN I cant complain as having Voice Acting at all is a pleasant surprise. The Art is pretty decent and the H-Scenes are alright, but nothing amazing. One Problem that I came across was an Exception from the Game Engine when I was doing the Erodani Route, but I just ignored it and I could still complete it. All in all, you get a short, decent Eroge that will be a good enough Timeconsumer for around 2 hours. Also I bought this Game on DailyIndieGames for a very cheap price. The Normal Price is a little high considering the Length so maybe check that Site out if you dont know it yet. Overall Score: 7.2/10 Check out my Currator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34401214/ for more Reviews :)
https://youtu.be/II4pqtygobY The incredibly slow pacing of this visual novel affords plenty of time to spend with generally uninteresting characters. The voice acting is a nice plus but is hit or miss on occasion.
Plot: no VA: yes Is VA good: no Should you listen to starting jet engine close enough to break your eardrums in case you won't be able avoid listening to this VA otherwise: yes H-scenes: yes Best waifu: Mira Does she has her h-scenes: no Story is basically series of gags/jokes. Some of them made me rise corner of my mouth slightly... It's OK i guess.
First and foremost, a key for this visual novel was provided by the developer, and this review is associated with the "Anime Tiddies Connoisseur" Steam Curator group. I have written reviews for this group in the past, but this will be the first tied directly to my Steam profile, rather than through a middleman.
Review:
Main Character Simulator is a lewd comedy visual novel, with panty shots, plenty of anime cliches, and multiple endings. One of the key running gags is that the protagonist, Shinji, considers himself to be the living definition of a generic protagonist...though it's not quite played straight, as he's certainly more honest about his perversions than most leading men from harem animes, and he intentionally tries to play up the image rather than letting it happen naturally. His supporting cast includes the traditional roles of "clumsy but very happy girl", "smart girl", "emotionless girl", "girl that's right on the line between tsundere and dangerous", and "those two guys always seen together". It's a fairly entertaining romp, taking delight in how absolutely unoriginal its components are and mixing in a slice of self-awareness. There's certainly a lot of work put into this project as well, though I do wish the developers had gone just an extra step further. There's intermittent voice acting, adding to the humor to some scenes by their delivery, and helping to develop the characters' personalities by hearing how they talk...but it's a tad jarring when it suddenly cuts, and you read the rest of the scene with just background music. Additionally, some of the vocal recording (Erodani in particular) doesn't quite sound right with the default sound settings. The character art is also original and well-done, particularly the fanservice...but when it comes to the regular conversation portraits, it seems like every character has exactly one pose (Izumi with her arms out, Kiyoko with one hand on her glasses) with different facial expressions or outfits on top. What's present is impressive, especially considering the title's cost, but it feels like a bit of potential greatness is missing.
Summary:
Censorship on Steam: None; Nudity: Checkmark

Pros Cons

Decent Voice Acting and Art
Inexpensive
Achievements

Somewhat short
Could use slightly more polish
Not everyone likes meta-comedy

Conclusion:
I'd recommend giving this story a read, especially if you're an anime fan and can take a few jokes directed at your interests. I'm not the best with assigning a numerical value, but if I had to rate it out of 10, I'd put this in the 7-8 range; its writing, art, and sound are all above-average, even if they're not perfect.
If you somehow own it, do yourself a favor and don't play Main Character Simulator with voices turned on. The male main character sounds like he is 3 or 4 times the age of every other character in-game. Or maybe I missed something, and this guy is actually the professor at school? But if you are thinking about buying it, don't. It's like 90% of visual novels available on Steam - slow and boring "plot", uninteresting characters, below average art. The only good thing? Easy achievements, but then again, it's the only good point in all of those "games".
NewWestGames nous avait habitué à plus sérieux comme boulot. C'est moche, bâclé et inintéressant, malgré des menus corrects et quelques succès de completion. A ce tarif (4,29 euros !), c'est tout simplement du vol.
Sweet, but way too short (sorry, I like them long and thicc). There are not really much choices to make (also, not much action to take) and after 15 minutes, i finished. A bit disappointing, like having drunk shrek with your ex.
Ce jeu n'offre aucun choix. Il y a des mangas bien meilleurs que ça. Dans ce jeu, tout est plat, l'histoire comme l'humour.
Hey, my friend wrote this! Based on my limited exposure to VNs as a medium, I still enjoyed MCS. It was rather silly and full of heart, though I find the overall narrative to be rather bare-bones. That isn't to say it's not worth your time, though. If you're a fan of the medium or just looking for a silly read, it's worth the price.
