Maidens of a Hollow Dream

The screenshots make it look decent, and it's a well-detailed anime-style bullet hell shooter, but that's about all that's good about it. The UI is too difficult to understand, the sounds are so-so unless you like the super-cute "happy hardcore" style of J-Pop, and the menus with broken English text are too difficult to understand. It's also very difficult even on easy. It also would have benefitted from local multiplayer (co-op would have been perfect). Even if you like the yuri style (basically anime for girl-girl) this game is more frustrating than fun. This developer has better shooters than this one, so look elsewhere. It feels too much like a rush job.

[h1]注意：このゲームにお色気要素はほぼありません [/h1] ボム打った時に主人公の一枚絵が出てくるのがこのゲーム唯一のそういった要素なのでそれを期待するのはNG。 コンセプトがよくわからない。 ゲーム本編に設定とかストーリーみたいなのがないから何してるか分かんないし、かといってゲーム内の設定集みたいなのは読みにくい。 素直に.txtでくれ。 前張りの女の子がいっぱい出てきて、その度にちゅっちゅするけどそれだけだしどうせならプレイアブルキャラにしてほしかった。 シューティング本編も弾の視認性が悪すぎ。背景黒に徐々に黒くなる弾とか視力検査か？ 左右打ち分けのシステムも、キャラ切替で障害物避けるシステムもめんどくさいだけで必要性を感じない。 お金を稼いで下手くそでもいつかはクリアできるっていうけど、ノーマルモードだと収入がショボすぎて結局アイテム無効のハードモードで稼がないと意味ないとか流石にロックだわ。 BGMは賛否あると思うけど、耳に残るし自分は好き。 自分の好きなもの詰め込んだんだろーなーとは思うけれど、どこにも突き抜けてないせいで、 女の子目的でもSTG目的でもオススメしにくいものになってしまったのは残念。

Maidens of a Hollow Dream is... not great. The only challenging parts were the bosses, and having to replay stages just to get coins to upgrade your character felt like a chore. Being able to switch characters to dodge bullets is a neat mechanic, but I didn't really need to use it that often (mostly just to skip through walls). I didn't try hard mode (=no upgrades), but normal mode is a bit too easy once you start to upgrade your weapons. I didn't really enjoy the short time I spent with Maidens of a Hollow Dream, so if you're looking for a new schmup to play I recommend trying something else. (It's possible that I would have enjoyed it more if I had been willing to put more time into it, but the game really didn't make me want to keep on playing...)

i didn't know Maidens was a bullet hell game but its also an ugly ecchi one. you can swap between two characters and you do this to get your power move faster but also to get past walls. it has cash so you can buy items and new weapons to take on missions. sadly it feels like they just fill the screen with hard to see crap because the game is so easy. if your here for the female sprites outside the kissy thing on bosses and the one shown for the special they are all the same girl with different hair (even the main characters just have colors swapped). just look at the screen shots, i didn't even know the first boss was a boss because the girl riding the thing was the same one i was fighting all the way up until then. if you really can't find a better game it could scratch that bullet hell itch but it's a low grade effort for $10.

ノーマルでクリア。 2ボタンで左右撃ち分けするシューティングゲームで、操作感はデススマイルズに近い。 適度な尺の短さで楽しく遊ぶことが出来た。 画面上の主人公2キャラの切り替え要素が特徴。 操作されていない残り片方のキャラはグラディウスのオプション的な子機として振舞う。 この操作していないキャラは当たり判定を持たないので、そちらに回避できないような弾幕を透過させた後にキャラ切り替えをすることで弾幕をすり抜けたり、壁を抜けさせてから位置交換することで障害物を回避したりすることができる。 【ここが良かった】 ・全体的に操作感がいい。 ・ゲーム内ゴールドを溜めて武器や能力を買い物できるのが楽しい。 【ここはどうだろ】 ・サブカル調の絵柄。色使いなどが個人的に苦手である。 ・ゲームメニューや買い物UIの見栄えがが洗練されておらず、みすぼらしく見える。 ・ゲームを開始する時に決定キーをポンポン押してるだけで即始まるようになっておらず、これは繰り返し遊んでいると思いのほか煩わしい。
