not played much and had 3 people stall out games by not taking their turns. played Hearthstone a lot when it came out, never had an experience like this. lots of stutters too.

pay for digital cards? BAHAHAHAHA. next.

I played it a bit in the past when it was just MTG stuff. I log in and I'm seeing ninja turtles, avatar, marvel etc, it's just a mess of cash grab slop; there is no identity to the game anymore, I'm guessing they saw the success of their LOTR collab then just kept trying to recreate it to the point they let their greed spoil the game. In my opinion this company needs to run this IP through chemo and start fresh and keep MTG as MTG; no crossovers or collabs. Don't bother downloading. Wait for a new game without all the mess.

Random matchmaking means you'll play decks that perfectly counter whatever you try to draft and build.

This game is a free way to play Magic on pc, but it's not a great experience. The UI is clunky and cluttered, the program itself lags constantly for some reason, the modes are almost exclusively PvP pay to win nonsense and the support for playing with your friends is the bare minimum. Previous Magic games had a lot more singleplayer content and support but they are no longer available because of this game. Don't spend any money here and it's a good deal. Universes Beyond will kill Magic soon anyway.

I like playing MTG a lot and I will suffer as I continue to play it however keep in mind these few things - It cannot shuffle to save its life, Landlocking you in the smallest of land built decks - Match making is incredibly rigged. Pitting standard games of players with 200 cards against those with 60, pitting players with high win counts against low win counts and so forth. - there is a LOT of gambling put into this game £80 for 3 tries at an event is outrageous - It pins you against players who have dumped money into the game on purpose to make you want to buy more packs in order to win. - F2P is possible but requires a LOT of patience and being okay with FAR FAR more loss than wins Overall this game is predatory and awfully made. If you want something fun buy tabletop simulator and use the workshop maps to play whatever cards and decks you desire without forking over large sums for a bad experience. Table top not only plays better and feels more like the real experience but allows you to play the game as it was designed to instead of rigging everything to encourage you to spend more money.

Great game, awful consumer practices. It's only free if you consider your time worthless.
