If you are disconnected when trying to login, game forces you to re-download over 1GB when you launch again. SO annoying. Just want to jump in and play a few rounds but have to wait a few minutes. This can happen a few times a day.

its like magic except instead of random cards the game decides if you win or not and if you lose that coin flip you either get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with not a single land drop or you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with not a single creature pull while your opponent gets a perfect hand. win 3 games in a row? be prepared to get "rng" ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for next 8 games bc the engine decided that you were doing too good. build a meta deck? have fun fighting rich pay to wins with any and every card they could ever want smurfing in low ranks. build an off meta deck? prepare to get slammed by literally every other player in the game bc anything less than meta is like sitting there watching somebody else play the game bc you sure as ♥♥♥♥ wont be getting to play. not to mention that in order to expand your collection you basically have to win games or spend money. even irl mtg isnt this cancrous bc atleast irl mtg is actually random and you can proxy cards in most formats to get around the disgusting entry fee of $100+ cards. played arena for years on mobile before this so ignore the hour count. just moving to steam and decided to make use of the review system to hopefully save some poor soul from making the mistake of playing arena, just stick to paper trust me. ya know the memes about how arena players run the most toxic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decks they possibly can? yeah those are UNDERSTATING how bad the game is

I gotta stress first, this is probably one of the best ways to learn the basics and get a feel for the game for a new player. Really guides and resolves stacks in a very clear and transparent way which is amazing. Again for learning it is actually worth a download and playing around with for a while. Outside of that its not great tbh. Its basically treated as a non TCG game where if you want a card you can "earn it" via a gambling lootbox system if you are unemployed/retired and have free time or just buy it using micro transactions. I really, really wish there was just a deck builder mode for like causal play against your steam friends for example and would totally be cool with the more competitive style events with rewards they host having that "you need to own this card to enter" requirement. It would just be nice to test things or goof off and I dont think it would harm the current game at all, would undoubtedly bring in a flood of new players too but till then: TLDR: Great to start learning, but for anything else with pals look elsewhere

If you like MTG, then you’ll like this. Some people complain about the shuffler being rigged, but if it is, I haven’t really noticed.
